Syracuse, N.Y. – The fifth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team had five players record five points as the Dolphins registered a 17-7 victory over 21st-ranked Assumption University in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Tuesday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.
With the victory, the Dolphins (16-2) advance to the NE10 semifinals for the eighth straight season, the longest active streak in the conference, and for the 11th time in 12 seasons in the conference. The second-seeded Dolphins will host third-seeded Adelphi University on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
Le Moyne opened the game's scoring with the first three goals. Graduate student midfielder
Katelyn Karleski (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) got the Dolphins on the scoreboard at the 13:21 mark with her 22nd goal of the season. Following a turnover by the Greyhounds in front of the net, the Dolphins cleared the ball and graduate student attacker
Sara Goodwin (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Virginia Tech) tallied her 53rd goal of the year with 9:05 left in the quarter. Just over one minute later, graduate student attacker
Jessica Meneilly (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) registered her 63rd goal of the campaign after taking a pass from junior attacker
Sarah Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) to force an Assumption timeout.
The Greyhounds answered with the next three goals to tie the score for the first time. Katelynn Johnson got her team on the scoreboard with 6:25 left with her 28th goal of the year. She scored again 36 seconds later. Following three empty possessions by each team, Isabelle Edwards posted her 31st goal of the year with 2:09 remaining in the period.
The Dolphins regained the lead 31 seconds later as Meneilly finished off a pass from graduate student midfielder
Adrianna Nojaim (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) for her career-best 64th goal of the season and career-high 68th point of the year. With the goal, Meneilly passed Gold Wave Hall of Famer Brittany Brigandi '12 for eighth on the program's career points chart with her 218th.
Assumption tied the score for the final time with 21 seconds left as Isabella Jackson netted her fourth goal of the year after scooping up a loose ball after her initial shot was saved.
Le Moyne took the lead for good with the first four goals of the second quarter. Goodwin started the run at the 12:47 mark with an unassisted tally. Meneilly followed with her 65th goal of the year with 10:56 to go in the half. Hutchings then scored her 23rd and 24th goals of the season with 8:01 and 7:17 left, respectively.
Jenna Joseph, who has the most points in the conference, ended the run with her 40th goal of the season with 5:19 remaining.
The Dolphins scored twice in the final two minutes of the quarter to take a 10-5 lead into the intermission. Karleski netted an unassisted goal with 1:46 left and then Hutchings scored her third goal of the quarter with 49 seconds remaining.
After eight and one-half minutes of scoreless action to start the third quarter, the Dolphins recorded three goals in a span of 58 seconds. Goodwin ignited the spurt with 6:22 left and then finished off a pass from Karleski 19 seconds later. Hutchings followed 39 seconds later with her 26th goal of the year.
Molly Weiand ended Assumption's scoring drought of 19 minutes with her 27th goal of the year with 1:11 left in the quarter.

Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) finished off a feed from Karleski in transition with 13 seconds left for her 29th goal of the season.
Le Moyne scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to take its first double-digit lead of the game. After backing up an errant shot, Goodwin curled around the left side of the goal with 12:12 left for her fifth tally of the game. With the goal, Goodwin became the 15th player in the program's history to record 80 points in a season. Just 36 seconds later, Meneilly scored in an extra-player situation after collecting a pass in front of the net from sophomore attacker
Grace Detor (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee). With the goal, her 66th of the season, Meneilly ties Brigandi in 2012 and Bryanna Fazio '19 in 2019 for fifth on the program's single-season goals scored list.
Johnston took advantage of a Dolphin yellow card to convert a free-position shot with 6:08 left for her 30th goal of the year.
Karleski finished off the game's scoring with 2:15 remaining after receiving a pass from junior midfielder

Paige Crandall (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) earned her 15th win of the season after making six saves, while adding a career-high seven ground balls, the most by a Dolphin this season. Nojaim led the Dolphins with a season-high seven draw controls Skylar Troyan recorded seven saves in the loss for the Greyhounds.
