Chicago, I.L. – The Le Moyne College volleyball team will travel to take on new Northeast Conference rival Chicago State University this coming Friday, Oct. 18 at 6:00 P.M. and Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1:00 P.M. This marks the first meeting between the two volleyball teams in school history.

Dolphins' Season:
Le Moyne faces off against Chicago State straight off their first conference win of the season. While the Dolphins fell to Stonehill College in four sets, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-21, on Friday, Oct. 11, they were able to rebound and take down the Skyhawks, 25-16, 14-25, 25-19, 25-25, the following day. The win marked Le Moyne's first at home since jumping to Division I and came one week after they dropped their opening conference slate against FDU. The 'Phins now sit at 2-14 overall and 1-3 in conference play this season.

Offensively for the Dolphins, Branwyn Lupton (Napanee, O.N. / Napanee District Secondary School) leads the squad with 135.5 points and 122 kills while freshman outside hitter Jordyn Hamlin (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) sits right behind with 133.0 points and 117 kills through 16 matches played. Junior setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) leads with 274 assists with freshman setter Skylar Jehlen (Rochester, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) also sitting with 191 for Le Moyne. Defensively, freshman libero/DS Brooke Menke (St. Louis, M.O. / Visitation Academy) has a team-high 145 digs while Hamlin has also passed the century-mark with 103 on the year. Junior middle hitter Kayla Anstett (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) leads with 30 blocks, while freshman middle hitter Anaya Rawlinson (Whitby, O.N. / Sinclair Secondary School) has 26.0, and Lupton follows with 24.0 this season.

A Look at the Cougars:
Chicago State University has played to an 8-8 record overall en route to a perfect 4-0 start in the program's inaugural NEC season. The Cougars have dominated conference action thus far, sweeping Central Connecticut State through two matches, and only dropping one set against LIU through another two matches this past weekend. In their most recent match against LIU on Saturday, Oct. 12, Chicago State took 25-16, 25-18, 25-14 set wins. 

On offense, Patrycja Lagida leads with 212.5 points and 190 kills while Karly Klaer has put up another 194.0 points and 157 kills for the Cougars. Wiktoria Zagumny has tallied a staggering 536 assists while Andrea Calderon has recorded the team-high in digs with 246. Julietta Sandez (50), Berenice Almeyda (39), and Zagummy (35) lead the Cougars in blocks on the year.  

What's Next:
Le Moyne will stay on the road and head to Brooklyn, N.Y. to take on the LIU Sharks on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25-26.
