Box Score Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College volleyball team traveled downstate to take on the Long Island University Sharks on Friday evening. The Dolphins fell in three sets; 25-15, 25-22, 25-17, and now sit at 2-17 overall and 1-6 in conference play this season.
For Le Moyne, freshman outside hitter Denali Louden (Murrieta, C.A. / Murrieta Mesa) led with five kills while sophomore opposite hitter Branwyn Lupton (Napanee, O.N. / Napanee District Secondary School) and freshman outside hitter Nina Salas (Austin, T.X. / McNeil) each tallied another four against the Sharks. Also on offense, junior setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) and freshman setter Skylar Jehlen (Rochester, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) tied for the lead in assists with eight while freshman libero/DS Brooke Menke (St. Louis, M.O. / Visitation Academy) put up a team-high three service aces. Defensively, Louden led with seven digs with freshman middle hitter Anaya Rawlinson (Whitby, O.N. / Sinclair Secondary School) led with 2.5 total blocks in the match.
For LIU, Camelia Melendez recorded a game-high 10 kills while Bella Correia trailed right behind with seven. Selina Koc led with 18 assists while Iremnur Elmas put together three service aces in the win. On defense, Alasha Colon led with eight digs while Cristal Paulino Rubel led with 2.5 total blocks for the Sharks.
The Dolphins will be right back on the court to finish their season series against LIU tomorrow Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2:00 P.M.
