SOFTBALL COMPETES IN DOUBLE HEADER AGAINST SIENA IN THE FIRST DAY OF THE SPRING GAMES

Madeira Beach, F.L.. – The Le Moyne College softball team took on the first day at THE Spring Games in R.O.C. Park this Thursday, February 22nd with a double header against Siena College
 
During the first game, the first inning went quick, but in the second inning second baseman Ashley Giampolo singled to left field. Following this Emma Peterson singled to left as well and Giampolo advanced to second and stole to third off of an error. Three outs followed. For the Dolphins, redshirt junior Frankie Larobardiere (North Syracuse, N.Y. / Cicero-North Syracuse/ Onondaga C.C.) singled to right but was left on base. In the third inning graduate center-fielder Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick/Mathieu-Martin/Pace) singled off of a bunt, but was left on second.
 
In the fifth inning Siena opened up with a single to left by Emmalynn Skaff. Mary Mikalson singled off of another error while Skaff advanced. Chloe Cummings then hit a double to right bringing in Skaff for a run. Mikala Fletcher was then walked followed by two RBI's from Silber gaining two more runs and Giampolo adding another RBI making the score 4-0. Le Moyne responded with 2 runs off of what began as walks, followed by a single by graduate student catcher Brandi Feeny (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/Saint Peter's) and two walks by Larobardiere and freshman left-fielder Sydney Nesci (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse). The game ended in a 4-2 score with Siena starting the morning with a win.
 
In the second game, Siena scored a run to start off the game from Isabella Pardo. Le Moyne had a few walks and singles but nothing to bring in a run to get their edge back against Siena. In the third, a run was made by Silber, and in the fourth three runs were made following that making it 5-0. The Dolphins came up short this game ending it with a final score of 5-0.
 
Tomorrow, Friday, February 23, the Dolphins will take on Brown University at 12:30pm and St. Bonaventure University at 3pm at R.O.C. Park – Madeira Beach, FL
