Syracuse, N.Y. – Best-selling author Kate Fagan is returning to the Heights.
Fagan will appear in the Events Center on Tuesday, Feb. 13 with a presentation centered around mental wellness as part of the Le Moyne Athletic Department's "The Le Moyne Way" programming.
An Emmy-award winning journalist and the No. 1 New York Times best-selling author of "What Made Maddy Run," Fagan will speak to Le Moyne's student-athletes, coaches and staff (as well as others in the College community) on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 9 p.m. at Ted Grant Court. She will address the larger campus community the following day with a presentation tailored to coaches, staff and faculty members at 10 a.m. in the Special Event Room of the Campus Center. All members of the college community are invited to attend both sessions.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Kate Fagan back to Le Moyne College to speak with our student-athletes, coaches and staff members," said Le Moyne Vice President of Athletics & Recreation Bob Beretta. "The message Kate delivered when she last visited the Heights two years ago was powerful and impactful, and positively affected so many within our campus community.
"The health, safety and both the mental and physical well-being of our students remains our highest priority. Kate is able to address the topic of mental health in a way few others can. Her book, 'What Made Maddy Run' has had a profound impact on countless student-athletes and their families. Kate's first-hand experiences, detailed throughout the book, lend great insight to the tremendous pressure experienced by so many of our high-achieving young adults."
In addition to writing "What Made Maddy Run," Fagan authored the coming-of-age memoir 'The Reappearing Act." Her third book, "All the Colors Came Out," was released in May 2021.
Fagan currently works for Meadowlark Media, and previously spent seven years as a columnist and feature writer for espnW, ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. She was also a regular panelist on ESPN's
