Waco, T.X. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team fell to Baylor University in a road matchup, 43-99, on Sunday afternoon and now sit with a 1-2 record on the season.
Le Moyne freshman guard Peyton Dincher (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore) set a new career-high to lead the Dolphins in scoring with 11 points on 50.0% shooting from the field while draining a trio of three-pointers in 16 minutes of play.
Junior guard Jessica Wangolo (Ottawa, O.N. / Capital Courts Academy / Buffalo) followed behind with eight points as junior forward Ashley Buragas (Hopewell Junction, N.Y. / John Jay / Mineral Area College) added seven, guards Eli Clark (Oakhurst, N.J. / Ocean Township) and Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) each put up six, and freshman guard Kayden Clark (Oakhurst, N.J. / Manasquan) rounded out the offense with five points against the Bears.
Dincher and Wangolo also led the way with four rebounds apiece as E. Clark put up a team-high three assists. Buragas and Linnin recorded the 'Phins two blocks as the former also put together three steals to lead the squad.
Senior guard/forward Darianna Littlepage-Buggs led all players with 26 points while going 12-13 from the field for Baylor. Redshirt sophomore guard Taliah Scott (22) and senior guard/forward Bella Fontleroy (21) followed closely behind, combining for a 12-21 day shooting. Littlepage-Buggs also put up a game-high 11 rebounds while Scott recorded nine assists, one ahead of graduate guard Jana Van Gytenbeek.
Buragas kicked off the game with a steal before six-straight points from Littlepage-Buggs put the Bears up, 6-0, just over two minutes into play. A three-pointer from Linnin cut the 'Phins deficit just ahead of a 13-4 run from Baylor that put them ahead, 19-7. Threes from Dincher and Linnin closed out the scoring for Le Moyne in the first quarter as Littlepage-Buggs tallied her team's final seven points to give them a 26-13 advantage at the first break.
Wangolo added a layup with 8:22 remaining in the second frame before the Dolphins went scoreless until the :24 mark. In the meantime, Baylor added 19 points to give themselves a 48-16 cushion with less than a minute until halftime. Wangolo added one free-throw and a three-pointer which beat the buzzer to end the half as Le Moyne's lone scorer in the second quarter.
Coming out of the half with a 50-19 lead, Littlepage-Buggs and Van Gytenbeek quickly added to Baylor's total before Buragas recorded a jumper in the paint for the 'Phins. The Bears went on another run, this time to string 11-straight points together, over three minutes in the middle of the third quarter before another Buragas jumper and three-pointer from E. Clark sent Le Moyne to the final 10 minutes of play facing a 29-81 deficit.
The Dolphins added 14 points in the final quarter in Waco, with Dincher contributing eight of her 11 total points in the final three-plus minutes alone. Baylor scored six of the final nine points to finish out the game and handed Le Moyne their second loss of the season, 99-43.

Le Moyne will head to Pittsburgh, Pa. for a meeting with Pitt at the Peterson Events Center at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
