LE MOYNE COLLEGE RANKS HIGHLY IN NCAA ACADEMIC REPORTS

11/19/2025 2:30:00 PM

Syracuse, N.Y. – In the latest academic report issued by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Le Moyne College student-athletes continue to perform well above the average of other Division II schools they competed against at the time. The report details Federal Graduation Rates (FGR) for both student-athletes and the entire student population as well as the Academic Success Rate (ASR) of student-athletes.

Each year the NCAA issues a report detailing various measures of academic performance for all its member institutions. In the 2025 FGR report, which is based off the freshman class entering college in 2018, Le Moyne's student-athlete graduation rate was 83%, a figure that takes into consideration student-athletes receiving athletically-related aid completing their degree within six years from enrollment. The mark is the sixth-best by the department in the 20 years that data is available. Le Moyne's four-year average covering the freshman classes of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 is 78%, which is tied for the 12th-best mark in Division II, up a spot from last year. Amongst Northeast-10 Conference institutions, where Le Moyne competed at the time, Le Moyne ranks fourth (up a spot from last year) and is behind Bentley University (93%, second-best in Division II), now-former member Stonehill College (86%, fourth in Division II) and Saint Michael's College (82%, sixth in Division II).

The Division II ASR is a model developed 20 years ago at the request of presidents of Division II institutions to overcome inadequacies with the Federal Graduation Rate. The FGR only takes into account student-athletes that receive athletically-related aid, leaving large numbers of DII student-athletes out of the calculation. Because of Division II's partial scholarship financial aid model, the ASR was created to include non-scholarship student-athletes. The ASR also takes transfer students into account and removes students who left the institution in good academic standing. For the student-athletes who enrolled from 2015 through 2018, the four years covered in the most recent data, Le Moyne posted an ASR of 95%, tied for the sixth-best mark in Division II and tied for the fourth-best in the College's history. Amongst NE10 institutions, Le Moyne is tied for second with Stonehill and Saint Michael's and only behind Bentley (98%), which is third in the country. The national ASR for the 2015 through 2018 cohort is 77%, the same as last year.
