BOWLING GREEN DOWNS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, 74-46

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team finished out their two-game road trip with a matchup with the Bowling Green Falcons on Tuesday morning. The Falcons handed the Dolphins a 74-46 loss, sending them to 1-9 overall on the season.

Junior forward Ashley Buragas (Hopewell Junction, N.Y. / John Jay / Mineral Area College) led Le Moyne with 13 points on a 60% mark from the field while also adding a team-high eight rebounds with one assist, one block, and one steal in 21 minutes of action.

Senior guard Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) and freshman guard Kayden Clark (Oakhurst, N.J. / Manasquan) each sat just behind with six points apiece while sophomore guard Eli Clark (Oakhurst, N.J. / Ocean Township) added five points, as well. In total, 11 different 'Phins registered at least two points against Bowling Green.

Le Moyne shot 17-49 (34.7%) from the field and 9-10 (90.0%) from the line while tallying 22 points in the paint with 13 bench points in the loss.

Paige Kohler led the Falcons with 17 points on 7-16 shooting from the field while Kaia Woods (11) and Jasmine Fearne (11) also finished in double-digits. Woods also led Bowling Green with five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

The Dolphins came out to a quick 9-6 lead through the first 4:31 of the game, as a three from Linnin, fastbreak layups by Buragas and K. Clark, and a jumper from E. Clark put them ahead in the early going.

Another three from Linnin later in the quarter kept Le Moyne within striking distance but the Falcons were able to record 14 of the final 17 points to take a 20-12 lead in the second frame.

The Dolphins fought back to within two points at the 23-21 mark with 5:36 left in the half behind shots from freshman forwards Praise Matthews (Red Lion, Pa. / Dallastown) and Rachel Lynch (Cork, Ireland / Putnam Science Academy (Conn.)), and K. Clark, before a completed and-one opportunity from Buragas.

The Falcons went on another run to head into halftime, however, as they outscored Le Moyne 16-2 over the final five-plus minutes.

A layup from Buragas and a trio of free throws from E. Clark were all Le Moyne's offense could put together through the first six minutes of the third quarter as they headed into the final 10 minutes of play with a 58-33 deficit.

Le Moyne recorded nine points in just over two minutes to begin the fourth behind a three from freshman guard Peyton Dincher (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore), and shots in the paint by Buragas and senior guard Michelina Lombardi (Wynantskill, N.Y. / Averill Park)

The final 5:08 of the game saw Bowling Green add 10 points as the 'Phins were unable to mount a comeback and fell on the road, 74-46.
