O'DONNELL AND LOCCI EARN 1ST PLACE AS MEN'S AND WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMPETE AT GREG PAGE RELAYS

Ithaca, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's indoor track & field team competed at the Greg Page Relays over the weekend.
 
"We kicked off the season right," said head track & field coach Tanner Beebe. "This is a hungry group ready to prove themselves and they showed it with their first performances of the year."  

At the opening meet of the new campaign, the 'Phins walked away with two 1st place finishes after sophomore distance running Isabella O'Donnell (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) topped the women's 1000m, and sophomore Jacey Locci (Stillwater, N.Y./Stillwater) earned the best finish of the day in the women's high jump.
 
Men's Recap:
 
Sophomore sprinter Robbert Taddeo (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) placed 5th overall in the men's 200m after clocking in with a time of 23.48. In the men's 300m, junior sprinter Christopher Moser (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 9th overall after running a time of 35.82. Freshman sprinter Andrew Guide (Clarence Center, N.Y.) finished one spot behind Taddeo after running a time of 36.00, earning himself a 10th place finish.
 
In the men's 500m, freshman mid-distance runner Owen Mulholland (Syracuse, N.Y.) earned himself a 3rd place finish after running a time of 1:06.62. Freshman mid-distance runner Gabe Decker (Sherburne, N.Y./Norwich) finished one spot behind Mulholland, placing 4th overall after clocking in with a time of 1:07.54. Senior mid-distance runner Joseph Pecoraro (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph's by the Sea) placed 9th overall after running a time of 1:12.49, as freshman mid-distance runner Dillan Holzwarth (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 10th overall with a time of 1:16.78.
 
Sophomore mid-distance runner Carson Campbell (Lee Center, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) placed 3rd overall after running a time of 2:39.83. Sophomore mid-distance runner Liam Rocks (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) placed 6th overall after running a time of 2:42.65. Junior mid-distance runner Mike Purvis (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) placed 7th overall after clocking in with a time of 2:45.15. Sophomore mid-distance runner Brendan O'Rourke (New Milford, N.J./Bergen Catholic) placed 8th overall after running a time of 2:47.65. Freshman Emmett Bachmann (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) placed 9th overall with a time of 2:51.72, and junior mid-distance runner Jacob Maklouf (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) placed 10th overall with a time of 2:57.54 to round out the top-10.
 
Redshirt-junior distance runner Jake Roman (Liverpool, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/SUNY Morrisville) placed 10th overall in the men's mile event after running a time of 5:03.06. Junior sprinter Skylar Gravell (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy), Mulholland, Decker and Moser competed in the 4x400 relay, finishing 4th overall after running a time of 3:26.62. In the 4x800 relay, Purvis, Campbell, Rocks and O'Rourke placed 2nd overall, clocking in with a time of 8:29.66.
 
In the field events, junior sprinter/jumper Trevon Walker (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) placed 9th overall in the men's long jump after earning a distance of 6.40m / 21'. Sophomore Carter DeRosa (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) placed 7th overall in the men's triple jump after earning a distance of 11.95m / 39' 3.25". Senior Adam Cuyler (Phoenix, N.Y./C.W. Baker) placed 10th overall in the men's shot put event after throwing a distance of 12.88m / 42' 3.25" to conclude the day for the men's program.
 
Women's Recap:
 
Freshman sprinter Alexis Vincent (Wynantskill, N.Y.) placed 12th overall in the women's 200m after running a time of 27.14. In the women's 500m, sophomore distance Jasmin Golzalez-Rivera (Utica, N.Y./Thomas R. Proctor/Monmouth) placed 4th overall after running a time of 1:21.39. Junior sprinter/hurdler Amanda Lowenguth (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) placed 10th overall after running a time of 1:25.91. Freshman sprinter Jada Maehrlein (Schenectady, N.Y.) placed 11th overall after clocking in with a time of 1:39.14.
 
Sophomore distance runner Isabella O'Donnell earned a 1st place finish in the women's 1000m after clocking in with a time of 3:05.84. Freshman distance runner Emily Judd (Chittenango, N.Y.) placed 4th overall after running a time of 3:49.79. Junior distance runner Mackenzie Ples (Lowville, N.Y./Lowville) placed 4th overall in the women's mile event after running a time of 5:24.71. Fifth year distance runner Hailey Beckwith (Stephentown, N.Y./Berlin) placed 15th overall after running a time of 6:20.21.
 
In the women's 4x400, freshman mid-distance runner Adelle Robinson (Temperance, Mich.), Locci, Lowenguth and Gonzalez-Rivera placed 9th overall after running a time of 4:18.26.
 
In the field events, Locci took home the top spot in the women's high jump after earning a height of 1.65m / 5' 5". Alexis Vincent placed 11th overall in the women's long jump after earning a mark of 5.01m / 16' 5.25" to round out the top-15 for the 'Phins.

What's Next:

"There were a lot of strong and gutsy performances across the board as well as a new school record in the 500m set by Owen Mulholland," said Beebe. "We're excited to carry this momentum into the indoor season."

The Dolphins have a brief pause in their schedule over the holiday break. Le Moyne will travel back to Cornell on January 10th to compete in the Southern Tier Invite.
