Julianna Gibson and Ineivi Plata each contributed 10 points to the SFU cause Thursday, while Marissa Shelton and Yanessa Boyd added nine points each.
SFU, which defeated Le Moyne 73-41 earlier this season in Loretto, got off to a 9-0 start on Thursday, which led to a Le Moyne timeout. The Dolphins then ramped up their defensive intensity and outscored the Red Flash 9-3 during the final six minutes of the quarter. Le Moyne went 6-of-6 from the line in the opening quarter, and Roberts added a three-point field goal.
The Dolphins continued to apply defensive pressure throughout the second period, and took a 15-14 lead following an acrobatic finish from Williams with 3:49 remaining in the first half. Johnson then scored three consecutive field goals to help the Red Flash establish a 21-15 lead at the intermission.
The Red Flash scored the first five points of the third quarter to build their largest lead of the game, an 11-point advantage, before Linnin swished a triple from the top of the key.
The 'Phins went on a quick 7-0 spurt between the 2:45 and 1:39 marks in the third, with five points from Linnin and a crafty reverse layup from Bodziony, to take a 37-35 lead. Johnson then drew a foul and sank two free throws with one second on the clock to tie the contest heading into the fourth. Linnin scored eight of her points during the third as the Dolphins outscored the Red Flash 22-16 during the penultimate period.
SFU quickly went ahead in the fourth with back-to-back jumpers from Gibson.
A three-pointer from Clark with 5:28 left in the fourth tied the game at 44-44, then Johnson responded with a three-pointer during the ensuing SFU possession.
SFU once again took a four-point lead, its largest advantage of the fourth, with 2:23 remaining in regulation.
With just over two minutes remaining, Clark sent a cross-court pass to Linnin, who swished a clutch three-pointer, then Le Moyne took the lead during its next possession when Clark drove towards the right block and converted a contested runner.
Plata completed an old-fashioned three-point play with 1:24 left in the fourth to put the visitors back in front, 54-52.
With just under one minute remaining in the fourth, Clark drove from the right wing towards the free throw line, drew a help defender and dropped off a bounce pass to Williams, who banked in the layup from the right block to tie the game at 54-54.
The Dolphins forced a turnover at the other end, then got a good look from three-point range with seven seconds remaining, but the shot bounced off the front rim, the backboard, and the rim once again before falling outside the cylinder, allowing SFU to collect the rebound.
Following a timeout, SFU raced the ball up the floor and got off a shot just before the buzzer, but it missed short of the rim, sending the contest to overtime.
The Red Flash shot 8-of-8 from the free throw line during the overtime period to earn the road win.
Thursday's contest was Le Moyne's second conference matchup at home this season that went to overtime. The Dolphins previously recorded a 77-71 overtime victory over Chicago State on January 18.
The Le Moyne College women's basketball team will return to action Saturday at 12:00 p.m. against Mercyhurst University in the team's Play4Kay game.
