WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DOWNED BY FDU IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball fell to the FDU Knights by a score of 64-48 at Ted Grant Court on the final day of the Northeast Conference regular season.

Junior forward Lilly Parke led FDU with a season-high 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, including 6-of-10 from three-point range, while senior forward Teneisia Brown tallied her 15th double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and freshman guard Ava Renninger added 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists in 40 minutes played as the Knights became just the seventh team in NEC women's basketball history to record a perfect regular season conference record at 16-0.

For the Dolphins, graduate forward Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent) recorded her 18th game in double figures this season with 11 points to go along with nine rebounds, one block and one steal, while graduate guard Megan Bodziony (Wakefield, R.I./St. Andrew's School) provided 10 points. Junior guard Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) and freshman guard Eli Clark (Oakhurst, N.J./Ocean Township) added six points each.

Le Moyne scored 24 points in the paint, compared to 14 for FDU, but the Knights shot 12-of-32 from three-point range, while Le Moyne went 4-of-11 from beyond the arc.

The Knights, who clinched the 2024-25 NEC Regular Season Championship on February 22, compiled 19 assists on their 23 made field goals during the victory, which extended their program-record winning streak to 19 games.

In addition to Renninger's game-high five assists, graduate guards Abby Conklin and Abaigeal Babore registered four assists each for the Knights.

After 7:45 of play in the first quarter, the two sides were tied at 6-6, but a jumper from Bella Toomey at the 2:14 mark and a layup from Brown with just under a minute remaining in the first gave the Knights a 10-6 lead after 10 minutes of action.

FDU then shot 7-of-14 from the field, including 5-of-10 from three-point range to build a 31-17 advantage at the intermission. A three-pointer from freshman guard Kailee McDonald with 7:52 left in the second gave the Knights a 20-8 lead.

Roberts and Bodziony scored baskets on back-to-back possessions to cut the deficit to 22-14, but FDU went on a 9-1 run with two threes from Parke and one from McDonald to make it 31-15. Roberts got to the line with 32 seconds left in the second quarter and sank two free throws to make it a 14-point game at halftime.

FDU began the third quarter on a quick 7-0 run with a three from Parke and back-to-back layups in the paint from Brown, then Bodziony ended the spurt with a layup at the 6:58 mark.

Three-pointers from Linnin and Clark on consecutive possessions cut Le Moyne's deficit to 38-25 with 4:46 left in the third.

Roberts scored a layup in the paint at the 0:32 mark to make it 45-33 in favor of the visitors, then Brown converted a putback at the other end just before the buzzer to give the Knights a 47-33 advantage heading into the fourth.

Le Moyne cut its deficit to 10 points with 6:49 left in the fourth following an old-fashioned three-point play from Clark, but FDU responded with a 13-2 run to extend its lead to 21 points with 1:45 remaining. Parke and Renninger each scored five points during the stretch.

Le Moyne, which earned the No. 5 seed in the Northeast Conference Tournament, will begin postseason play on Monday at fourth-seeded Saint Francis.
