Syracuse, N.Y. – The Binghamton University Bearcats recorded an 11-8 victory over the Le Moyne College baseball team in non-conference action Tuesday at Dick Rockwell Field.
Le Moyne held a 5-2 advantage early on, but Binghamton tallied two runs in the third and four in the fourth to take the lead for good.
Freshman infielder
Tim Denet (West Harrison, N.Y./Iona Prep) launched his team-leading sixth home run of the season for the Dolphins and finished the contest with a team-high three runs batted in, while junior outfielder
Tyler Campbell (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) tallied two hits, two walks and three runs, and junior outfielder
Paulie Goodness (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon/Finger Lakes C.C.) added two hits and two runs.
Sophomore outfielder
Jack Cannon (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) drove in two runs for Le Moyne with a base hit and a sacrifice fly, while freshman catcher
Robert Wegrzyn (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Niagara-Wheatfield) drew a season-high three walks and scored a run.
Binghamton graduate designated hitter Freddy Forgione went 3 for 4 at the plate with a single, a double, a solo home run, two RBIs and three runs scored, while senior infielder Devan Bade drove in a team-high three runs with a two-run double and an RBI single.
Senior catcher Evin Sullivan also scored three runs for the Bearcats, who improved to 19-17 on the year with the win, and redshirt-freshman infielder Tim Hennig added two hits, two RBIs and one run.
Junior right-handed pitcher Dan McAliney earned the win on the mound for Binghamton after tossing 2.1 scoreless and hitless innings in relief with three strikeouts.
Sophomore right-hander Conner Griffin held Le Moyne scoreless during the seventh and eighth innings, then sophomore righty Jackson Mitchell collected his third save of the season after tossing a scoreless frame in the bottom of the ninth.

Luke Connors (Brampton, Ontario/Heart Lake/Monroe C.C.) made his first start this season and completed 3.0 innings of work. Graduate right-hander
Joel Connors (Brampton, Ontario/Heart Lake/Lakeland C.C./St. Andrew's/St. Bonaventure) recorded four strikeouts in 1.1 scoreless innings in relief for the 'Phins.
Junior right-hander
Adam Sullivan (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) made his first appearance on the mound this season for Le Moyne and registered two perfect frames.
The Le Moyne baseball team will resume conference play this weekend with a three-game set at Coppin State, with game one scheduled for Friday at 3:00 p.m.
