Niagara University, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College baseball team registered a 9-3 non-conference victory over the Niagara University Purple Eagles on Tuesday at Niagara's Bobo Field.
Sophomore infielder
Ethan Farina (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa/Saint Rose) launched his second home run of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth, and finished the contest with three hits and a game-high three RBIs.
Le Moyne sophomore outfielder
Chaz Anthony (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) went 3 for 4 at the plate with a double, two walks and two RBIs, while junior outfielder
Paulie Goodness (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon/Finger Lakes C.C.) provided three hits, two runs, one RBI and three stolen bases.
Junior infielder
Adam Sullivan (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) added two hits, including a double, two runs and two RBIs to the Le Moyne cause.
Graduate right-hander
Joel Connors (Brampton, Ontario/Heart Lake/Lakeland C.C./St. Andrew's/St. Bonaventure) was credited with the win, which improved his record to 3-0 this season, after tossing 2.0 innings in relief with one hit and one run allowed.
Junior right-hander
Luke Connors (Brampton, Ontario/Heart Lake/Monroe C.C.) allowed zero hits and zero runs with three strikeouts in 2.0 innings in relief, then senior right-hander
Wyatt Patchett (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) and Sullivan both tossed 1.0 scoreless inning in relief.
Right fielder Carmen Panaro and shortstop Jacob Brooks both provided an RBI for the Purple Eagles during the setback, while third baseman Vincent Mauro scored two runs with a double and a hit by pitch.
The Le Moyne College baseball team will return to action for an NEC series at Mercyhurst from May 9-11.
