Worcester Mass. – The Le Moyne College women's volleyball team will close out non-conference play during the 2025 regular season on the road against Holy Cross at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The Dolphins will enter the matchup with a 1-10 overall record through the first month of the season. Â

'Phins Season:
Le Moyne sits with a 1-10 record through 11 matches this year, with their win coming at home against Niagara (3-2) during the first weekend of the season on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Heading into their meeting in Worcester, the Dolphins have just concluded their invitational play for the season. Le Moyne opened the year in the Salt City Classic from Aug. 29-31 where they suffered losses at the hands of both Rider (1-3) and Syracuse (0-3) while downing Niagara. The team then traveled to Delaware to take part in a three-match set at the Blue Hen Invitational from Sept. 6-7. Le Moyne fell in their three matchups to Hampton (2-3), Virginia Tech (0-3), and host Delaware (0-3) before traveling to Maryland for the Navy invitational on Sept. 12-13.Â
The Dolphins dropped their first match to Gardner-Webb (0-3) before rounding out the weekend with a loss at the hands of Navy in similar three-set fashion. The squad then returned home for a mid-week home match with Canisius on Sept. 17 where they fell in three sets before dropping both legs of the Syracuse Invitational against St. John's (0-3) and Siena (0-3) from Sept. 19-20.Â
Through just eight matches played this season, sophomore outside hitter Jordyn Hamlin (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) leads the team with 101.5 points, 86 kills, and 12 service aces while adding six assists, 60 digs, and 5.0 blocks. Junior opposite hitter Branwyn Lupton (Napanee, O.N. / Napanee District Secondary School) sits just behind having played all 11 matches this season with 93.0 points and 81 kills while leading the team on the defensive end with 23.0 blocks and adding 21 digs, as well. Senior setter/DS Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) has added a team-high 201 assists through 11 matches played, adding seven kills, eight service aces, 61 digs, and 6.0 blocks.Â
On defense, sophomore libero/DS Brooke Menke (St. Louis, M.O. / Visitation Academy) leads the Dolphins with 83 digs to go along with a .907 reception percentage through eight matches while senior middle hitter Nil Ezgi Tasdelen (Izmir, Turkey/Ugur Okullari) and freshman middle hitter Eiley Schneider (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) sit just behind Lupton with 21.0 and 19.0 blocks each, respectively.
A Look at the Competition:
Holy Cross will host Le Moyne possessing a 4-12 record through 16 matches this season. The Crusaders have already surpassed their 2024 season win total as they went 2-23 overall and 0-16 in Patriot League play just one year ago.
The Crusaders opened 2025, Head Coach Matthew Cribbin's first with the program, with a trio of losses against New Hampshire (0-3), Northeastern (0-3), and St. Peter's during the Holly Young Invitational from Aug. 39-30. The squad then traveled to take part in the Mercyhurst Invitational from Sept. 5-6 where they dropped their first match against NEC-member Mercyhurst (0-3) before finding their first two wins of the season against St. Peter's (3-2) and the host Lakers (3-2). Holy Cross then traveled to Bryant for a mid-week matchup where they fell, 1-3, on Wednesday, Sept. 12.Â
Since then, the Crusaders have gone 2-7 with their wins coming against Merrimack (3-2) during the Friar Volleyball Classic on Sept. 12 and NEC-member Stonehill (3-0) on the road on Sept. 17. They're currently 0-4 in Patriot League action, having kicked off their conference slate on Sept. 19.Â
Through the team's 16 matches this season, freshman outside hitter Emma Sorensen currently leads Holy Cross with 202.5 points and 182 kills to go along with three assists, 14 service aces, 118 digs, and 13.0 blocks. Senior setter Katie Russell and sophomore setter Tuana Ozarpaci sit atop the stat sheet with 257 and 217 assists apiece this year.
Defensively, sophomore DS Alana Whitwell leads the Crusaders with 152 digs while freshman middle blocker Kyla Harris has recorded a team-leading 44.0 blocks in 63 sets played.
What's Next:
Le Moyne will kick off NEC action at home as they host LIU for a pair of matches at Ted Grant Court on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4.
