Syracuse, N.Y. –First year opposite Gabriella Schemidt (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield East) of the volleyball team has been selected as the Le Moyne College Athlete of the Week, presented by McNeil & Co.

Schemidt earns the honor after registering 30 kills (2.50 per set) on a .229 hitting percentage and recording 11 blocks as the Dolphins went 2-1, including a sweep of an NEC series at Chicago State University. She opened the week with eight kills on a .400 hitting percentage in a setback to Siena. She then tallied eight kills and five blocks on Friday in a 3-2 victory over Chicago State. She landed 14 kills on a .250 hitting percentage to go along with five more blocks in a 3-1 win over the Cougars on Saturday. Her 14 kills on Saturday were one shy of her season high, while her five blocks each on Friday and Saturday were career highs.

The Dolphins are back in action on Friday at home against Stonehill College at 6:00 p.m.
