Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team hosted New Haven in their regular season finale and came out on top, 53-48, over the Chargers on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins now sit with a 12-18 season record with a 9-8 mark in conference play, placing them in a tie with Wagner for fourth in the NEC standings.
Prior to the 'Phins victory, the team celebrated Senior Day at Ted Grant Court and recognized guards Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) and Michelina Lombardi (Wynantskill, N.Y. / Averill Park) for their contributions to the women's basketball program over the past four years.
Junior forward Ashley Buragas (Hopewell Junction, N.Y. / John Jay / Mineral Area College) led the 'Phins with 17 points on a 7-15 mark from the field and a 3-3 day at the free-throw line. She registered a double-double by adding a game-high 12 rebounds while dishing out a pair of assists and recording a block.
Freshman guard Kayden Clark (Oakhurst, N.J. / Manasquan) finished with 10 points including a pair of three-pointers in 19 minutes on the court. Linnin finished just behind K. Clark with nine points on 2-6 shooting from the field while going 3-4 at the line.
Sophomore guard Eli Clark (Oakhurst, N.J. / Ocean Township) led the way with three assists and tied Linnin and junior guard Jessica Wangolo (Ottawa, O.N. / Capital Courts Academy / Buffalo) with six rebounds, as well.
Le Moyne shot 19-51 (37.3%) from the field, 6-17 (35.3%) from three-point range, and 9-11 (81.8%) from the line against the Chargers. The Dolphins recorded 24 points in the paint and 20 points off the bench in the win.
After quickly going down 8-2 in under three minutes to open the game, Le Moyne went on a 9-0 run to take the lead at the 5:39 mark in the first quarter. New Haven closed the frame with a 17-14 lead after the teams traded a pair of threes in the final minute.
The Dolphins struggled offensively in the second quarter, tallying just seven points total with four from the field before the half. The Chargers took advantage and went to the break scoring seven unanswered points in the last three-plus minutes of play to extend their lead to 11, 32-21.
Out of the half, Addisen Sulikowski quickly added a layup for New Haven before Le Moyne worked to lessen their deficit to just three points by the 5:06 mark in the third quarter. Buragas and junior forward Sydney Postell (Churchville, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) added points in the paint while Wangolo and Linnin drained a pair of shots from three-point range during the span.
Seven straight points from K. Clark put the Dolphins ahead once again as she recorded a layup, added two points at the line, and sank a three in just over a minute towards the end of the third. The hosts went to the final quarter of play with a one point, 43-42, advantage.
They added on early in the fourth quarter as a jumper from redshirt sophomore guard Amya McLeod (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Academy / Youngstown State) at the 7:31 mark put them ahead by six points. The Dolphins held the Chargers to just six points in the final 10 minutes of action, allowing just one jumper from Lindsay Hogan over the last 5:47 of the game.
The Dolphins added just three points on a layup out of the hands of Buragas and a last-minute free-throw by Linnin in the final seven minutes but it was enough to close out the 53-48 victory at home.

Le Moyne will close out the 2025-26 regular season on the road at Mercyhurst at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 5.
