Goodness led off the bottom of the first inning with a single. A hit-by-pitch by Brozon and a walk by Sullivan loaded the bases with one out in the inning, but the Dolphins were unable to push a runner across.
Left fielder Jimmy Mantuano singled to lead off the top of the second and first baseman Jeremy Cheeseman followed with a two-run shot over the center field wall to put FDU in front 2-0.
Singles by Whelehan and Goodness gave the Dolphins runners on first and second with two outs in the bottom of the second. Brozon followed with a single up the middle to score Whelehan and make it a 2-1 game.
Romich singled and sophomore designated hitter
Derek Diaz (White Plains, N.Y./Iona Prep) walked to begin the bottom of the sixth inning. Whelehan then attempted a sacrifice bunt, and a throwing error by the catcher allowed him to reach and for Romich to come around to score to tie the game at 2-2. Kriegelstein followed with a single to center field that allowed Whelehan to advance to third base and for Diaz to score, giving the Dolphins a 3-2 lead. Goodness then lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Whelehan and make it a 4-2 game.
Mantuano lined a one-out solo homer over the right field wall in the top of the seventh to make it a 4-3 game.
Connors came in to pitch with a runner on first and one out in the top of the ninth inning. He got the first batter he faced to fly out and then struck out the final batter of the game to complete the save and secure a 4-3 victory for Le Moyne.
Le Moyne and FDU will continue the series on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
