Syracuse, N.Y. – A doubles win from sophomore Lorenzo Bortolaso (Bassano Del Grappa, Italy/IT IS enrico Fermi) and sophomore Callum Matthew (Dorset, England/Highcliffe School) in Le Moyne men's tennis NEC quarterfinal matchup against Mercyhurst has been named the Le Moyne Play of the Week, presented by McNeil & Co.
 


In their previous matchup back in February, the Dolphins and Lakers met at Elevate Fitness, a match in which Mercyhurst secured a 4-3 victory. The Lakers took the doubles point, as the two programs split the singles matches.
 
On Thursday, the two programs collided in the NEC Championships, as Bortolaso and Matthews clinched the doubles point in the third position, edging Nikola Radisic and David Mengher 7-6 (7-5). Matthews also clinched the victory after winning his singles set in the second position after rallying 1-6, 6-1, and 7-5.
 
The Dolphins became the first sixth seed to win a quarterfinal match in the NEC Championship in over 22 years.
