Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College softball team will host Siena University and Colgate University in a pair of mid-week non-conference doubleheaders this Tuesday and Wednesday, Apr. 28 & 29. The Dolphins will take on the Saints at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday before matching up with the Raiders at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Softball Complex.
Season Summary:
Le Moyne has worked to a 14-30 overall record with an 11-10 mark in NEC action this season, placing them fourth in the conference standings.
The squad opened the season at the Blue Hose Invitational with losses at the hands of Dayton (7-3) and Presbyterian (2-1) on Feb. 6 before coming out on top against Morehead State, 19-16, the following day. They closed out the weekend with a five inning 10-1 loss against Western Michigan on Feb. 8.
From Feb. 13-14, the Dolphins traveled to compete in the Winthrop Garnet & Gold Tournament, and came away with losses against Robert Morris twice (12-4, 9-1), Winthrop (7-4), and Kent State (6-5).
The following weekend, the team took on Bryant and Delaware twice each at the Blue Hen Invitational and came away with four losses. Bryant took down the 'Phins, 19-11, in six innings in game one and 9-0 in five innings in game two while Delaware came away with 9-3 and 8-0 victories over Le Moyne.
To round out non-conference play, the Dolphins went 2-3 at the Longwood Spring Break Classic from Mar. 6-8. The team fell to Youngstown twice (9-0, 4-3) and the host Lancers (7-1) before finishing out the tournament with a pair of wins over Lafayette, 3-1 and 6-2.
From Mar. 14-30, the team went 4-6, falling to LIU in three games before coming out on top, 2-1, in three-game NEC sets against New Haven, and Saint Francis. Outside of conference action, the Dolphins fell at UAlbany and Cornell on Mar. 25.
The Dolphins opened April with a loss at Cornell on the 1st, before earning a series win at home against FDU on Apr. 3-4 and dropping 2/3 against Wagner in Syracuse last weekend.
Last week, Le Moyne dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader at the University at Buffalo on Wednesday before taking two out of three on the road against Stonehill over the weekend.
Most recently, the Dolphins fell in two home games against St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, Apr. 22 before taking 2/3 for their fifth NEC series victory of the season on the road against Mercyhurst this past weekend.
Stat Leaders:
Through 44 team games, senior infielder Audrey Benderski (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) leads all qualified 'Phins with a .962 OPS and has registered team-bests with a .552 slugging rate and .410 on-base percentage while starting in every contest. Benderski also sits atop the stat sheet with a .320 batting average while sitting tied for the team-lead with six homers, driving in a team-high 31 RBI, and recording nine doubles. She is third on the squad with 22 runs scored and has reached on a team-high 17 walks.
Freshman left fielder Kayla Dunkerley (Purcellville, Va. / Loudon Valley) sits just behind Benderski with an .841 OPS, slashing .287/.369/.472 while starting in 36 games for Le Moyne. Dunkerley has tallied 31 hits with a team-best 10 doubles along with two triples and a pair of home runs. She's driven in 11 runs and crossed the plate 20 times.
Junior right fielder Sydney Nesci (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) sits tied with Benderski for the team-high with six home runs and 17 walks while recording eight doubles, as well. Nesci ranks first in runs scored (27) and second on the squad with 24 RBI while starting in all 44 games this season.
Sophomore center fielder Maddie Martin (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) has gone 34-112 in the box and sits third on the squad with a .304 batting average while also starting in every team game. She has tallied four RBI, four walks, 23 runs scored, and a team-leading 13 stolen bases.
Junior DP Arianna Exarchakis (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) sits tied for third with 21 RBI and has walked 12 times this season, adding two home runs for a .310/.377/.388 slash line.
In the circle, sophomore Isabella Kwashek (West Deptford, N.J. / West Deptford) leads all Dolphins with a 3.84 ERA through 19 starts and another 12 relief appearances in 127.2 innings pitched so far this season. She also leads the team in WHIP with a 1.61 mark while registering nine complete games, two shutouts, one save, and a 9-11 record. Kwashek's season ERA ranks fifth in the NEC while her nine conference victories tie her for third-best.
Series History:
Siena holds a 7-5 all-time record against Le Moyne, dating back to the 1985 season.
Since the Dolphins began their transition to Division I prior to the 2024 season, they've met the Saints six times and are 1-5 in those matchups.
Le Moyne is 6-17 in 23 all-time matchups against Colgate, with 19 of those matchups occurring between 1985-97. Since 2024, the Dolphins have gone 0-4 after meeting the Raiders for a non-conference doubleheader in each of the past two seasons.

The Dolphins have brought in six freshmen this offseason, including utility players Coral Enscoe (Webster, N.Y. / Bishop Kearney) and Adrianna Laraway (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie), catchers Camryn Shenk (Rome, N.Y. / Camden) and Elizabeth Gleghorn (West Henrietta, N.Y. / Rush-Henrietta), outfielder Kayla Dunkerley (Purcellville, Va. / Loudon Valley), and pitcher Tatum Nessman (Calgary, Alberta / National Sport School).
NEC Outlook:
Le Moyne was selected to finish fifth in the regular season standings in the NEC preseason coaches' poll, after going 7-11 in conference play a year ago. They placed behind favorite LIU, CCSU, FDU, and Wagner while ranking ahead of Saint Francis, Stonehill, Mercyhurst, and New Haven.

Coach Roman:
Tracey Roman was named the head coach of the Le Moyne softball program on Oct. 7, 2019 after gaining over 20 years of coaching experience as an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts, head coach for the Baldwinsville Central School District, Cicero Renegades, and Sports Zone organizations, and head coach and recruiting coordinator with the UNY Revolution club program.
Scouting the Saints:
Siena has played to a 24-16 overall record and a 15-9 mark in MAAC play this season, head coach Casey Bump's sixth with the program.
The Saints opened the year with a 4-6 record through two early-season tournaments hosted by Charleston Southern and the Make It Happen Games from Feb. 6-Mar. 1 while going 5-1 through six non-conference matchups against UAlbany and Le Moyne's NEC rival Wagner since then.
Siena has earned a 15-9 record through six conference series against Sacred Heart, Iona, Canisius, Saint Peter's, Rider, Manhattan, Fairfield, Mount St. Mary's, and Merrimack since Mar. 7.
Junior pitcher/outfielder Gracie Goewey leads all Siena batters with a 1.133 OPS, slashing .386/.480/.653 (all team-bests) through 36 games. Goewey has tallied nine doubles, six home runs, 17 walks, 25 RBI, and 18 runs scored.
Goewey also leads all Mercyhurst pitchers in the circle with a 2.28 ERA and 1.07 WHIP through 22 starts and 26 total appearances, going 14-9 with 16 complete games, seven shutouts, and two saves through 153.1 innings this season.
The Saints added five freshmen to their squad this season after going 36-21-1 overall in 2025 and falling to #1 Marist in the MAAC Championships a season ago.
Siena was voted to finish third in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll after going 16-7-1 in the conference last year.
A Look at the Raiders:
Colgate holds a 24-24 overall record and a 10-5 mark in Patriot League action in 2026. Head coach Marissa Lamison-Myers is in her ninth year with the program.
The Raiders kicked off the season with a 7-13 showing through four early-season tournaments hosted by Jacksonville, Tarleton State, South Florida, and the Make It Happen Games from Feb. 6-Mar. 1. They've gone 7-6 through eight non-conference series against Binghamton, Niagara, Maryland Eastern Shore, Drexel, Cornell, Syracuse, and UAlbany, as well.
Colgate has earned a 10-5 record through five conference series against Lehigh, Holy Cross, Army, Boston University, and Lafayette since Mar. 21.
Junior outfielder Nora Megenity leads all hitters with a 1.282 OPS and a .402/.453/.829 slash line (all team-bests) through 47 games played. Megenity has registered 20 home runs, 10 doubles, 12 walks, 43 RBI, and 46 runs scored.
Freshman pitcher Kelcie McGraw leads all Colgate pitchers with a 4.20 ERA and 1.60 WHIP through 24 starts and six relief appearances, going 13-11 with 10 complete games, two shutouts, and three saves through 125.0 innings this season.
The Raiders added seven freshmen to their squad this season after going 18-33 overall in 2025 and missing out on the Patriot League Championships a season ago.
Colgate was voted to finish fifth in the Patriot League Preseason Coaches' Poll after going 6-12 in the conference last year.
What's Next:
Le Moyne will host Central Connecticut State in their final regular season series on Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3.
