Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College softball team will host Wagner in a three-game NEC weekend set at home this Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 11-12. The Dolphins and Seahawks will face-off at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Softball Complex on Saturday before finishing out the series at 12:30 p.m. the following day.
Season Summary:
Le Moyne has played to a 9-22 overall record with a 6-6 mark in NEC play this season, placing them fourth in the conference standings.
The squad opened the season at the Blue Hose Invitational with losses at the hands of Dayton (7-3) and Presbyterian (2-1) on Feb. 6 before coming out on top against Morehead State, 19-16, the following day. They closed out the weekend with a five inning 10-1 loss against Western Michigan on Feb. 8.
From Feb. 13-14, the Dolphins traveled to compete in the Winthrop Garnet & Gold Tournament, and came away with losses against Robert Morris twice (12-4, 9-1), Winthrop (7-4), and Kent State (6-5).
The following weekend, the team took on Bryant and Delaware twice each at the Blue Hen Invitational and came away with four losses. Bryant took down the 'Phins, 19-11, in six innings in game one and 9-0 in five innings in game two while Delaware came away with 9-3 and 8-0 victories over Le Moyne.
To round out non-conference play, the Dolphins went 2-3 at the Longwood Spring Break Classic from Mar. 6-8. The team fell to Youngstown twice (9-0, 4-3) and the host Lancers (7-1) before finishing out the tournament with a pair of wins over Lafayette, 3-1 and 6-2.
Since Le Moyne opened NEC play on Mar. 14, the team has gone 6-8, falling to LIU in three games before coming out on top, 2-1, in three-game NEC sets against New Haven, Saint Francis, and FDU in recent weeks.
Outside of conference action, the Dolphins fell at UAlbany and Cornell on Mar. 25 and Apr. 1.

Through 31 team games, senior infielder
Audrey Benderski (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) leads all 'Phins with a 1.053 OPS, also sitting third in the NEC in the category. She has registered a .607 slugging rate and .446 on-base percentage while starting in every contest. Benderski is hitting .333 with a team-high five homers and 23 RBI to go along with six doubles. She is second on the squad with 19 runs scored and has reached on a team-high 15 walks.
Freshman left fielder
Kayla Dunkerley (Purcellville, Va. / Loudon Valley) sits just behind Benderski with a .930 OPS, slashing .308/.392/.538 while starting in 23 games for Le Moyne. Dunkerley has tallied 20 hits with a team-best seven doubles along with one triple and two home runs. She's driven in nine runs and crossed the plate 13 times.
Junior right fielder
Sydney Nesci (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) has gone 26-89 (.292) at the plate, tying Dunkerley with seven doubles and adding four home runs and 14 walks. Nesci ranks second on the squad with a .393 on-base rate while starting in all 31 games this season.
Sophomore center fielder
Maddie Martin (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) has gone 27-79 in the box to register a team-best .342 batting average while also starting in every team game. She has tallied three RBI, two walks, 17 runs scored, and a team-leading 12 stolen bases.
Junior DP
Arianna Exarchakis (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) sits with 16 RBI and has walked 12 times this season, adding one home run for a .289/.375/.325 slash line.
In the circle, sophomore
Isabella Kwashek (West Deptford, N.J. / West Deptford) leads all Dolphins with a 3.67 ERA through 12 starts and another 10 relief appearances in 82.0 innings pitched so far this season. She also leads the team in WHIP with a 1.61 mark while registering five complete games, one shutout, one save, and a 5-7 record.
Series History:
Le Moyne and FDU are tied 3-3 in their all-time series history with the Dolphins coming away with a pair of wins in the teams' first three game set in Syracuse in 2024.
Last season, the Seahawks earned the series win, taking a pair of wins at home over the 'Phins.

NEC Outlook:
Le Moyne was selected to finish fifth in the regular season standings in the NEC preseason coaches' poll, after going 7-11 in conference play a year ago. They placed behind favorite LIU, CCSU, FDU, and Wagner while ranking ahead of Saint Francis, Stonehill, Mercyhurst, and New Haven.

Coach Roman:
Tracey Roman was named the head coach of the Le Moyne softball program on Oct. 7, 2019 after gaining over 20 years of coaching experience as an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts, head coach for the Baldwinsville Central School District, Cicero Renegades, and Sports Zone organizations, and head coach and recruiting coordinator with the UNY Revolution club program.
Scouting the Seahawks:
Wagner sits with a 12-21 overall record and a 9-6 record in NEC action this season, ranking them just ahead of Le Moyne in the conference standings. The 2026 season marks head coach Glenn Moore's third as leader of the program.
The Seahawks opened the year with a 2-10 record through a pair of early-season tournaments hosted by UC San Diego and UCF, along with a non-conference series at Seton Hall from Feb. 5-Mar. 11.
Since then, Wagner has gone 9-6 through five conference series at home against Stonehill, New Haven, and CCSU and on the road against Mercyhurst and LIU. They have also recorded a 1-5 mark in non-conference matchups with Siena, Stony Brook, Iona, and Rutgers in recent weeks.
Junior infielder Sydnie Trujillo leads all hitters with a .936 OPS, slashing .380/.436/.500, tallying 35 total hits with five doubles, two homers, nine walks, 25 RBI, and 13 runs scored through 28 games started.
In the circle, junior Karson Zavala leads all Wagner pitchers with a 2.87 ERA through 14 starts and 19 total appearances, going 9-6 with eight complete games and five shutouts through 78.0 innings this season.
The Seahawks added 10 freshmen to their squad this season after going 15-26 overall and missing out on the NEC Tournament in 2025.
Wagner was voted to finish fourth in the NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll after going 10-11 in the conference last year.
