WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TO HOST SYRACUSE ON DECEMBER 16

7/21/2026 2:00:00 PM

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team will host its first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponent in program history on December 16 when Syracuse University comes to Ted Grant Court at the Donald J. Savage '51 Basketball Arena.

The Orange will be the sixth ACC opponent the Dolphins have faced since transitioning to the Division I level, including the third of the 2026-27 season, and the 14th Power 5 opponent overall.

The Dolphins return 10 letterwinners and one redshirt from last year's squad, which went 12-21, including 9-9 in their third season in the Northeast Conference, and advanced to the NEC semifinals for the third straight year. The Dolphins return six of their top seven leading scorers from last year as well as six of their top seven leading rebounders. Senior forward Ashley Buragas led the Dolphins in both categories with 12.7 points and 7.2 rebounds on her way to earning All-NEC Second Team accolades. The Dolphins have added a pair of freshmen guards to the roster for 2026-27.

The Orange went 24-9 overall and 12-6 in the ACC last year before advancing to the Second Round in the NCAA Tournament as a ninth seed. Under fifth-year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, the Orange return six players, including leading scorer and rebounder Uche Izoje (15.6 ppg, 9.2 rpg), who was named the ACC Rookie of the Year and WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, and third-leading scorer and assist leader Dominique Darius (12.6 ppg, 3.5 apg), while adding four transfers and three freshmen.

The team's complete non-conference schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
