Syracuse, N.Y. – Third year Lucas Clay (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) recorded three victories to lead the Le Moyne College men's swimming and diving team at the season-opening Hannah/Gibbons Invite against Binghamton University on Saturday at Nottingham High School and Binghamton University's Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center. Third year Gabby Williams (Scotia, N.Y./Scotia-Glenville) swept the diving events to lead the women's team against Binghamton and Stonehill College.

Clay won the 100-yard breaststroke by touching the wall in 55.19 seconds. He placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 21.88 seconds. He was then victorious in the 50-yard breaststroke in 25.50 seconds. He capped his day by winning the 100-yard IM by over one second with a time of 51.31 seconds.

Third year Alexander Pilieci (Ottawa, Ontario/John McCrae) captured the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 23.87 seconds. He followed with a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 48.30 seconds. He completed the sweep of the butterfly events by winning the 100-yard in 51.60 seconds.

Third year Jacob Griffin (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) finished third in the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 56.93 seconds. He placed second in the 50-yard backstroke in 25.87 seconds.

Second year Neil Adamski (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 57.08 seconds. He was also a third-place finisher in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 26.60 seconds.

The quartet of Clay, fourth year Michael Han (Auckland, New Zealand/Pakuranga College), second year John Mummery (New Windsor, N.Y./Newburgh) and Pilieci closed out the meet by winning the 400-yard freestyle relay by just 0.01 second with a time of 3:10.26.

On the women's side, Williams won the one-meter diving event with 242.90 points. She was then victorious off the three-meter board with 236.05 points.

First year Isabella Ryan (Lancaster, N.Y./Sacred Heart) finished in second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.30.

Fourth year Madeleine O'Dea (Milton, Ontario/Milton District) registered a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.10. She also placed second in the 50-yard breaststroke in 31.61 seconds.

First year Kailynn Kocher (Minerva, Ohio/Louisville HS) placed third in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.83.

Second year Ella Twomey (Melrose, Mass./Landmark) finished third in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 27.31 seconds. She placed second in the 100-yard IM in 1:02.31.

Fourth year Kayleigh Bigwarfe (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem) placed third in the 100-yard freestyle by posting a time of 54.65 seconds.

The Dolphins are back in the pool on Friday, October 9 for the first day of the Colgate Invite.
