Ryan Brockett is in his second season at Le Moyne in 2018 after arriving on campus in the fall of 2016. The graduate assistant is the infield coach, first base coach, and assists with the hitters. In addition, his coaching responsibilities include assisting with baseball operations and oversight of the team social media accounts. Brockett will graduate with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in May 2018.
Brockett is a 2012 graduate of NE10 foe New Haven, where he was a four-year starter and finished with a .317 career batting average and 67 stolen bases. A two-time captain, Brockett was named NE10 All-Conference and NE10 Academic All-Conference three times. He was an ACBA All-Region selection in 2011 and a Rawlings East Region Gold Glove winner at shortstop in 2010. During summer collegiate baseball, he was a two-time Hamptons League All-Star, winning the batting title in 2011.
In June of 2012, Brockett signed professionally with the Worcester Tornadoes of the independent Can-Am league, where he made his debut pinch-running for former MLB All-Star Jose Canseco. He hit a career-best .356 as a utility player for the 2013 American Association Champion Gary SouthShore Railcats. During his six-year professional career, Brockett had a .954 fielding percentage in 195 games at shortstop and played every position except catcher and first base.
