2024 – Freshman: Put together a .300 batting average in 40 starts during his rookie campaign… totaled 42 hits, 28 runs, 19 walks, 13 RBIs and four stolen bases with 95 assists and 85 putouts at second base… recorded his first career hit during his collegiate debut in Le Moyne’s season opener at Houston Christian (Feb 16) … scored his first career run during the team’s first win of the season, an 11-4 victory at Houston Christian (Feb 17) … registered a run, a walk and an RBI during the finale of the Houston Christian series (Feb 18) … contributed a run, a hit and a stolen base during a 6-5 win at Saint Louis (Mar 1) … recorded two hits, a walk and two runs scored during a 12-10 loss at Delaware State (Mar 15) … drove in a season-best four runs with two singles and a walk during a 15-4 conference win at Delaware State (Mar 17) … during Le Moyne’s conference sweep of Coppin State (Mar 28-30), Whelehan tallied a combined three hits, three runs, two RBIs and a double… during game two of the Stonehill series (Apr 7), which resulted in a 6-5 win for the ‘Phins, Whelehan went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, then he tallied two hits and three RBIs in game three (Apr 7) to help Le Moyne claim a series victory at home and was subsequently named the NEC Rookie of the Week on April 9… went 2-for-3 with two walks and scored the go-ahead run during a 4-3 extra-innings victory at Sacred Heart (Apr 13) … provided two hits during a 4-1 win at UAlbany (Apr 23) … during Le Moyne’s conference sweep against Maryland Eastern Shore (May 3-4), Whelehan compiled a combined four runs, five hits and four walks… went 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI during a non-conference win over the MAAC regular season champion Niagara (May 7)
Personal – a 2023 graduate of Hilton High School, where he graduated with honors and was a member of the National Honor Society… following the 2022 season, Whelehan was named the Monroe County Division I Player of the Year, and earned spots on the All-Greater Rochester First Team, the All-County First Team, and the Class AA First Team… helped Hilton claim the Monroe County Division 1 League Championship in 2022 and 2023… also competed for the basketball team at Hilton… played his travel ball with the Rochester Brewers… son of Kevin and Mindy, has two younger brothers named Kal and Kam… intends to major in Psychology.
