2023: Junior - In his junior year, first at the Division I level, Cottet opened the season at the Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational (Sept. 2) setting a PR for the 6K with a time of 22:18.0, and finishing 24th overall. The Dolphins would finish 2nd overall in that meet. Cottet ran the 8k during the next two meets, starting with the 2023 Yellowjacket XC Invitational (Sept. 16) with a time of 29:23.6. Two weeks later, he competed in the Lehigh Paul Short Run (Sept. 30) with a time of 30:38.4. Ahead of his first Northeast Conference Championship, the Dolphins travelled to Canisius to compete in the Canisius Alumni Classic (Oct. 14) where Cottet set another PR in the 8K finishing with a time of 29:10.6, 99th overall. During the Northeast Conference Championships (Oct. 28), Cottet ran the 8K in a time of 31:31.5, finishing 81st overall.

2022: Sophomore – In his second Northeast-10 Conference Championship appearance, Cottet improved his eight-kilometer time at the event to 31:04.7.

2021: Freshman – At the season-opening Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational (Sep 4), Cottet’s first collegiate race, he ran the six-kilometer course in 22:53.9 to finish in 32^nd… finished 81^st at the eight-kilometer Siena College Invitational with a time of 31:13.0… Cottet came in 18^th at the eight-kilometer Cazenovia College Homecoming Invitational (Oct 2) with a time of 33:15.4… ran the eight-kilometer course at the Hamilton College Invitational (Oct 9) in 31:20.6 to register a 48^th-place finish… recorded a time of 32:05 at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship (Oct 24).

Personal – A 2021 graduate of Jamesville-Dewitt High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, and won multiple Section III Championships in both track and cross country... majoring in Physics with a minor in Philosophy... Cottet also competes for the Track and Field team, focusing on distance events... has earned PRs of 4:50 in the 1600m, 11:29 in the 3200m and 19:33 in the 5k for Cross Country... Jacob is the son of Emma and Nathan Cottet... he has two siblings, Emma and Nathan.
