2023: Freshman - Makhlouf made his collegiate debut for the Dolphins during the 2023 Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational (Sept. 2), where he competed in the 6K, running a time of 24:38.2 and finishing 53rd overall. Makhlouf competed in the 8K for the next two meets, the 2023 Yellowjacket XC Invitational (Sept. 16) and the Lehigh Paul Short Run (Sept. 30). During the Canisius Alumni Classic (Oct. 14), Jacob set a PR completing the 8K in a time of 29:28.9 and 104th overall. Two weeks later, Maklouf competed in his first Northeast Conference Championship, running the 8K in 32:32.0 and finishing 85th overall. Jacob and the 'Phins would close out their 2023 season at the Saint Francis University Red Flash Rally (Nov. 5), running the 6K in 23:09.7, a PR, and finishing 21st overall, his best finish of the season.
