2023-24 Outdoor: Junior - Jacob competed in 5 different invitationals during the 2023-24 outdoor track & field season with the Dolphins, which included two top-5 finishes and a personal record in the 5000m. At the West Point Army open (Mar 15), Jacob ran the 800m in a time of 3:41.71, the 1500m in a time of 4:32.94, and the 800m in a time of 2:04.73. The following meet at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invite (Apr. 6), he ran the 800m in a time of 2:14.33, the 1500m in a time of 4:26.63, and the 800m in a time of 2:14.33. He would set a personal record at the Brockport Multi & Invitational (Apr. 14), where he finished with a time of 17:09.15 and 18th overall. Ahead of the NEC Championships, the Dolphins traveled to the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic (Apr. 27), where he ran the 800m in a time of 2:04.97 and the 4x800 in a time of 8:59.94. At the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 4) Jacob ran the 4x800 in a time of 8:04.22 and finished 9th overall. 

2023-24 Indoor: Junior - During his Junior year with the Dolphins and first at the Division I level, Jacob would compete in 8 different invitationals which saw him set two personal records in the 1000m and the Mile. The Dolphins started their season at the Greg Pages Relays & Multi (Dec. 1), where Cottet ran the 4x800 in a time of 8:51.11 and finished 4th overall, while also running the Mile in a time of 4:49.25 and finishing 19th overall. At the West Point Open (Jan. 6), he ran the Mile in a time of 4:54.86 and 12th overall. Jacob set a personal record at the Southern Tier Invite (Jan. 13) in the 1000m, running a time of 2:45.61 and finishing 5th overall. The following meet at the Hamilton Continental Invitational (Jan. 19), he ran the 800m in a time of 2:06.05 and the 4x400 in a time of 3:48.69. At the Utica Blue & Orange Invite and Multi (Jan. 26), he ran the Mile in a time of 4:45.80 and the 4x400 in a time of 3:47.98. Cottet would set a personal record at the Brockport Invitational & Multi (Feb. 2) in the Mile with a time of 4:42.36. Ahead of his first NEC Championship, the Dolphins traveled to the RIT February Friday Invitational (Feb. 9). Jacob ran the 800m in a time of 2:04.30 and finished 6th overall, while also running the 4x400 in a time of 3:46.79 and finished 5th overall. At the Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 18), he would run the DMR in a time of 10:42.28 and finished 8th overall.

2022-23 Outdoor: Sophomore - Jacob competed in 5 different invitationals during the 2022-23 outdoor track & field season with the Dolphins, which included him setting two personal records for the 800m and the 1500m. He opened the season at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational (Apr. 2), Cottet would compete in the 800m where he ran a time of 2:05.70 and finished 38th overall. The following meet, he would compete at the Brockport Multi & Invitational (Apr. 14), where he ran the 4x400 in a time of 3:41.28 finishing 10th overall, while also running the 1500m in a time of 4:21.49 and finished 18th overall. At the Cortland Classic (Apr. 21), Jacob set a personal record in the 1500m where he ran a time of 4:17.64 and finished 12th overall. He also ran in the 800m at that event, finishing with a time of 2:05.23 and 22nd overall. Ahead of the NE10 Championship, Cottet and the Dolphins traveled to the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic (Apr. 29), where he set another personal record in the 800m with a time of 2:02.27 and finished 28th overall. At the Northeast-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 5), Jacob would ran the 4x800 in a time of 8:11.75 and finishing 6th overall.

2022-23 Indoor: Sophomore - In his second season with the Dolphins, Cottet would compete in 8 different invitationals which saw him earn four top-15 finishes in individual events. Opening the year at the West Point Open (Jan. 6), Jacob ran the 4x400 in a time of 3:52.42 and finished 15th overall, while also running the Mile in a time of 5:03.30 earning a 12th place finish. The following meet at the Spartan Invitational (Jan. 13), Cottet ran the 1000m in a time of 2:47.69 and 14th overall, and ran the 4x400 ub a time of 3:53.74 and 15th overall. At the Winter Welcome Back (Jan. 21), Jacob ran the 4x400 in a time of 3:49.76 and the Mile in 4:53.19. A week later at the Utica Blue & Orange Invite and Multi (Jan. 27) he ran the 800m in a time of 2:05.42 and the 4x400 in a time of 3:51.48. At the Brockport Multi (Feb. 3), Cottet ran the 800m in a time of 2:07.03 and the 4x400 in a time of 3:41.18. In his final meet before the NE10 Championships, the Dolphins traveled to the RIT February Friday Invitational (Feb. 10), where he would run the Mile in a time of 4:45.47. At the Northeast-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 16), Jacob ran the 4x800 in a time of 8:19.66 finishing 8th overall, while also running the DMR in a time of 10:53.65 and also finishing 8th overall. 

2021-22 Outdoor: Freshman - Did not compete

2021-22 Indoor: Freshman - In his first year on the Le Moyne track & field team, Cottet would compete in the Highlander Invitational (Jan. 22) where he ran the Mile in a time of 5:10.03 finishing 55th overall. He also ran the 4x800 alongside Evan Breitbeck, Alex Colonno and Jack Gibson, with the quartet earning a mark of 9:07.88 and finishing 6th overall.

Personal - Jacob Delaney Cottet was born to Emma and Nathan Cottet, graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High School where he was part of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society and was a multiple time Sectional Champion in both Track and Cross Country. Jacob will be a freshman Dolphin this year. 

Cottet will be majoring in Physics and will pursue a minor in Philosophy. Jacob focuses on the Distance side of Track and Field and has earned himself PRs of 4:50 in the 1600m, 11:29 in the 3200m and 19:33 in the 5k for Cross Country.

Jacob has two siblings, Emma and Nathan.
