2023-24 Outdoor: Freshman - During the outdoor season, Joseph would compete in six different invitationals which saw himself earn a 6th place finish, his highest placement of the season. Opening the season at the West Point Army Open (Mar. 15), Doran would earn a distance of 10.99m in the shot put and a distance of 32.70m in the hammer throw. He would compete in those same events the following meet at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational (Mar. 29), throwing a distance of 29.01m in the hammer throw and 9.61m in the shot put. The following meet at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invite (Apr. 6), Joseph earned himself a distance of 10.58m in the shot put and a distance of 28.00m in the hammer throw. Doran set a personal record in the Brockport Multi & Invitational (Apr. 14) in the hammer throw with a distance of 40.43m, finishing 12th overall, while also throwing a distance of 8.76m in the shot put. At the UB Alumni Invitational (Apr. 20), Doran threw a distance of 40.16m in the hammer throw.

2023-24 Indoor: Freshman - Doran competed in six different invitationals during his first season with the Dolphins, specializing in throwing events. At the first event of the season, the Greg Pages Relays & Multi (Dec. 1), he would throw the shot put a distance of 11.91m and the weight throw a distance of 11.57m, both of which were his best throws of the season. At the West Point Open, Joseph threw the shot put a distance of 10.91m earning a 6th place finish, and threw the weight throw a distance of 11.42m earning himself a 7th place finish. The following meet at the Hamilton Continental Invitational (Jan. 19), he threw the shot put a distance of 9.82m and the weight throw a distance of 10.46m. He would compete at the Utica Blue & Orange Invite and Multi (Jan. 26) throwing the shot put a distance of 11.12m and the weight throw a distance of 11.29m. At the Brockport Invitational & Multi (Feb. 2), Joseph earned a distance of 11.20m in the weight throw. His last meet of the 2023-24 indoor track season was at the RIT February Friday Invitational (Feb. 9), where he earned a distance of 10.61m in the shot put and a distance of 11.07m in the weight throw.
