2023-24 Outdoor: Redshirt Sophomore - During the 2023-24 outdoor track & field season, Matthew competed in seven different invitationals which saw him earn nine top-5 finishes throughout his campaign. Opening the season at the West Point Army Open (Mar. 15), he would run the 4x400 in a time of 3:30.01 and 4th overall, the 400H in a time of 58.75 and 3rd overall, and the 800m in a time of 2:02.83 and 7th overall. The following meet at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational (Mar. 29), he would run the 400H in a time of 57.63 finishing 4th overall, while also competing in the 4x400 finishing with a time of 3:43.43 and 15th overall. The Dolphins traveled to the Utica Pioneer Spring Invite (Apr. 6) where Matthew would run the 400H in a time of 58.25 and finished 2nd overall, as well as running in the 4x400 earning a time of 3:40.19 and finishing 5th overall. Frisa would set his best 800m time at the Brockport Multi & Invitational (Apr. 14) crossing the finish line in a time of 2:02.16 and finishing 7th overall. He would also compete in the 200m in a time of 24.80 as well as the 4x400 in a time of 3:51.23 during that meet. At the UB Alumni Invitational (Apr. 20), he would only compete in the 400H where he earned a time of 58.49 and finished 2nd overall. Ahead of the NEC Championships, the Dolphins would travel to compete in the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic (Apr. 27), where he would run the 4x800 in a time of 8:29.50 and finished 1st overall, as well as the 400H that saw him finish with a time of 56.23 and placed 2nd overall. At the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 4), he would run the 400H where he finished with a time of 57.21 in the preliminaries, finishing 6th overall. In the finals, he would set his best 400H time of the season, crossing the finish line in a time of 55.50 and finished 4th overall.

2023-24 Indoor: Redshirt Sophomore - In his first season with the Dolphins, Frisa competed in nine different invitationals specializing in sprints/hurdles and earning himself four top-5 finishes. At the first event of the season, the Greg Pages Relays & Multi (Dec. 1), Frisa would compete in the 4x400 finishing with a time of 3:41.56 while also competing in the 500m in a time of 1:10.06 and finished 10th overall. The following meet at the West Point Open (Jan. 6), he would run the 500m in a time of 1:12.07 and finished 8th overall. A week later, the Dolphins traveled to the Southern Tier Invite (Jan. 13), where he would run the 4x400 in a time of 3:43.45 as well as running the 500m in a time of 1:10.30. Matthew earned a 2nd place finish in the 4x400 at the Hamilton Continental Invitational (Jan. 19) with a time of 3:34.69, while also recording a time of 2:05.12 in the 800m finishing 6th overall. At the Utica Blue & Orange Invite and Multi (Jan. 26), he ran the 400m in a time of 53.47, his best time for that event, as well as running the 4x200 in a time of 1:37.92 and finishing 5th overall. A week later at the Brockport Invitational & Multi (Feb. 2), he would run the 800m in a time of 2:03.46 finishing 3rd overall, as well as finishing 1st overall in the 4x400 with a time of 3:32.27. Matthew set his best 200m time during the RIT February Friday Invitational (Feb. 9) with a time of 24.00 and finishing 10th overall, as well as the 400m in a time 53.60 and finishing 7th overall. A week later, Frisa would compete in his first Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship (Feb. 18), where he would run the 500m in a time of 1:08.73 and 17th overall. He would qualify to compete in the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships (Mar. 1), where he would run his best 500m time of the season crossing the finish line in a time of 1:07.76 and 14th overall.
