2023-24 Outdoor: Sophomore - Payton competed in six different invitationals which saw him set a personal record in the 800m while also earning two 4th place finishes throughout the season. He set his personal record in the first meet of the season at the West Point Army Open (Mar. 15), where he ran the 800m in a time of 2:04.45 and placing 9th overall. Two weeks later, Hirsch and the Dolphins would travel to the Geneseo Early Season Invitational (Mar. 29) where he ran the 200m in a time of 23.71 placing 18th overall as well as the 400m in a time of 51.86 placing 12th overall. At the Utica Pioneer Spring Invite (Apr. 6), Hirsch ran the 200m in a time of 23.49 placing 14th overall, the 400m in a time of 52.63 placing 6th overall, and ran the 2nd leg of the 4x100 which finished with a time of 50.18 and 4th overall. Payton ran the 800m in a time of 2:07.68 at the Brockport Multi & Invitational (Apr. 14), while also running the 4x100 in a time of 44.34 which placed 4th, and the 4x400 in a time of 3:51.23 placing 13th overall. At the UB Alumni Invitational (Apr. 20), he ran the 400m in a time of 51.86 which earned himself an 11th place finish. At his final meet of the season, the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic (Apr. 27), he would run the 400m in a time of 51.77 and placed 9th overall. 

2023-24 Indoor: Sophomore - In his second season with the Dolphins and first at the Division I level, Payton would compete in nine different invitationals, setting three personal records along the way. At the Greg Pages Relays & Multi (Dec. 1), he would run the 500m in a time of 1:09.24 placing 7th overall, and ran the 1st leg of the 4x400 finishing with a time of 3:41.56 and 12th overall. Payton set a personal record at the West Point Open (Jan. 6) in the Mile earning a time of 5:05.14 and placing 16th overall. The following meet at the Southern Tier Invite (Jan. 13), he ran the 200m in a time of 23.87 placing 11th overall, and ran the 500m in a time of 1:09.38 placing 5th overall. A week later at the Hamilton Continental Invitational (Jan. 19), he ran the 800m in a time of 2:05.29 and 7th overall, and ran the 2nd leg of the 4x400 finishing with a time of 3:34.69 and 2nd overall. At the Utica Blue & Orange Invite and Multi (Jan. 26), Hirsch earned a 1st place finish running the 4th leg of the 4x400 which finished with a time of 3:33.61, while also running the 400m in a time of 51.75 and 5th overall. He would compete in three events at the Brockport Invitational & Multi (Feb. 2), which included the 200m in a time of 23.65 and 12th overall, the 400m in a time of 51.62 and 5th overall, and the 4th leg of the 4x400 which finished at 3:32.27 which was 1st overall. A week later, Payton and the Dolphins would travel to the RIT February Friday Invitational (Feb. 9) where he set a personal record in the 400m with a time of 51.29 placing 3rd overall. At his first Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 18), he set another personal record in the 500m with a time of 1:08.51 placing 15th overall, and ran the 4th leg of the 4x400 which crossed the finish line at 3:25.27 and 7th overall. Payton and their 4x400 team would qualify for the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships (Mar. 1), where he ran the 4th leg of the 4x400 which finished with a time of 3:21.52 placing 10th overall. 

2022-23 Outdoor: Freshman - Hirsch competed in four different invitationals during the 2022-23 outdoor track & field season. At the Brockport Multi & Invitational (Apr. 14), he ran the 200m in a time of 23.33 placing 12th overall, and ran the 400m in a time of 52.43 placing 18th overall. A week later at the Cortland Classic (Apr. 21), he would run the 800m in a time of 2:09.60 placing 26th overall. At the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic (Apr. 29), he ran the 200m in a time of 23.91 placing 28th overall, and ran the 400m in a time of 52.52 placing 21st overall. At the Northeast-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 5), he would run the 4th leg of the 4x100 in a time of 43.91 placing 6th overall, and ran the 1st leg in the 4x800 in a time of 8:11.75 placing 6th overall. 

2022-23 Indoor: Freshman - In his first season with the Dolphins, Payton competed in eight different invitationals specializing in sprints setting three personal records and earning five top-5 finishes. Opening his account at the Greg Page 2022 (Dec. 3), Payton set a personal record in the 300m, running a time of 37.79 and placing 47th overall, while also running the 4x400 in a time of 3:38.40 and placed 10th overall. The following meet at the West Point Open (Jan. 6), Payton ran the 60m in a time of 7.46, a personal record, the 500m in a time of 1:11.76, and the 4x400 in a time of 3:40.80. Hirsch and the Dolphins traveled to the Spartan Invitational (Jan. 13), where he ran the 400m in a time of 52.75 placing 24th overall, and the 4x400 in a time of 3:38.81 and 11th overall. At the Winter Welcome Back (Jan. 21), he ran the 800m in a time of 2:08.86 and placed 29th overall, while also running the 4x400 in a time of 3:31.87 earning a 2nd place finish. Payton and the Dolphins traveled to the Utica Blue & Orange Invite and Multi (Jan. 27) where he would run the 400m in a time of 53.45 and placed 12th overall, and ran the 4x200 in a time of 1:34.54 placing 5th overall. Hirsch would set a personal record in the 200m at the Brockport Multi (Feb. 3) earning a time of 23.43 and placing 13th overall, while also running the 400m in a time of 52.85 and placing 24th overall. At the RIT February Friday Invitational (Feb. 10), Payton earned two 4th place finishes in the 200m and the 400m with times of 23.60 and 52.90, respectively. At the Northeast-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 16), he would run the 4th leg of the 4x400 in a time of 3:26.16 and placed 7th overall.
