Beth Hewitt

Beth Hewitt was named the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach on July 31, 2009. In three seasons at Le Moyne, Hewitt has successfully transitioned an accomplished Division I program into one of the elite programs in Division II.

In 2012, the Dolphins reached the NCAA Tournament semifinals for the second consecutive season and finshed with a record of 16-3. Le Moyne earned the NE-10 regular season championship finishing 12-0 in league play and reached the conference championships game for the second consecutive season.

In 2011, in its first season at Division II, Hewitt guided the program to its fourth NCAA tournament appearance, a program record 18 wins and a berth in the NCAA National semifinals.

Hewitt joined Le Moyne following three years as an assistant coach at the University of Oregon, where she helped launch Oregon’s program in 2005. At OU, Hewitt held the role of Defensive Coordinator, in addition to her involvement in recruiting the program’s first recruiting classes. Over the program’s first three seasons, Oregon improved its record each season.

Hewitt entered the coaching ranks following a decorated playing career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A four-year letter winner and midfielder for the Tar Heels from 2001-04, Hewitt garnered All-America and All-ACC honors during her career. Leading Carolina in scoring each of her last two seasons, Hewitt helped the Tar Heels to an ACC title and a berth in the NCAA Final Four.

In addition to receiving her bachelors degree in Communication Studies at North Carolina and masters degree from Oregon in Educational Leadership, Hewitt has worked extensively with Ameriprise Financial as a recruiter, Harrow Sports Inc. in the field of consulting, and Brine in the area of marketing and sales.
