Le Moyne College Athletics

A native of Syracuse, NY, Gaal returned to the Heights to lead the Sports Performance Department starting in 2018.

A four-year letterwinner in baseball, Gaal was a student-athlete from 2003-2007. He helped lead the Dolphins to three MAAC regular season Championships and two MAAC tournament Championships, while garnering All-MAAC selections twice. As a senior, he was tabbed a captain as well as a Preseason player to watch in college baseball by Baseball America. He left Le Moyne with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. 

After earning his undergraduate degree, Gaal enrolled at Ithaca College, where he was a graduate assistant baseball coach and received a Master of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences with a concentration in Human Performance in 2009.

Upon completion of graduate school, Gaal spent three years with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as a strength and conditioning coach. He was responsible for overseeing all S&C related activities for the Arizona Rookie League Angels in 2010. including five first round draft picks, and Class High A Inland Empire 66ers in 2011 and 2012.

Gaal returned home in 2012 to start his own business, A.P.E. Strength Training, LLC and also teaches baseball at the travel level with CNY Baseball Warehouse and Baseball U-New York. He currently resides in Camillus with his wife, Lindsay, also a 2007 Le Moyne graduate, their two daughters, Grayson and Ryen, and son, Rowan. 

Gaal is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
