Gianna Cooper was named Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations on January 12, 2022 and was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Fund & Special Events in November 2023, and serves as a member of the athletics senior leadership team. 

Cooper serves as the Executive Director to the Dolphin Athletic Association Board, oversees Le Moyne Athletics Annual Fund operations, manages the Dolphins’ Corporate Sponsorship program, all athletics special events, and serves as sports administrator for baseball and softball.

Cooper has broken fundraising records for the athletics department in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. Bringing in over $500,000 in revenue every year. 

“We are excited to add Gianna to our Leadership Team,” said Beretta. “Gianna has a varied set of intercollegiate athletic experiences and will shoulder a critical role in all of our revenue generating initiatives. As a former intercollegiate Student-Athlete, she understands the mission and will greatly enhance our ability to deliver an extraordinary experience to our Dolphins.”

Prior to arriving on “the Heights,” Cooper spent time as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Cayuga Community College and held positions in the athletic departments at Onondaga Community College, the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and Syracuse University. She also served a stint as a Sales Executive for the Syracuse Stallions’ professional basketball organization.

The native of Marcellus, N.Y., attended Cazenovia College and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management in only three years, while lettering on the women's lacrosse team. 

Cooper earned a Master’s Degree in Sports Leadership with a concentration in Collegiate Athletics Administration from Northeastern University in 2019.

Gianna currently resides in Camillus with her husband Ryan and dog Winnie.
