Liza Hillegas '16, M '18 was named Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success and NCAA Compliance/Senior Woman Administrator on October 1, 2024. She joined the athletics department in January 2017 as the Graduate Assistant for the Assistant Vice President of Athletics and was elevated to the position of NCAA Compliance and Business Operations Support Specialist in June 2019, and then promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Success & Business Operations on September 1, 2021.

Hillegas also serves as a Sports Administrator for the women’s basketball, women's lacrosse, and women's and men’s tennis programs.
 
In her role, Hillegas provides student-athletes support and guidance in many areas, including mental health, academic and personal development, working closely with administration, coaching staff and campus resources to best support our student-athletes. Hillegas also oversees the Compliance Office to provide leadership in education, monitoring and maintenance to ensure the department is compliant with NCAA legislation. In her role as Senior Woman Administrator, she helps organize and promote the Department and College mission, values and culture programming, teaming up with our Title IX, EDIB Office, and Excellence with Integrity Institute.

Hillegas is a member of the Department and College’s Early Alert System Exchange (EASE) Committee and Athletics Care Team (ACT), which identifies at-risk students through a referral process that provides avenues for professors, administrators, and staff with the means to identify students in need of additional support. She is also the advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Through SAAC, she encourages student-athletes to use their voice and expand their experiences here on the Heights. She has oversight on initiatives surrounding mental health and student-led community service. Hillegas started the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society chapter for Le Moyne College in the fall of 2024.

Originally from Binghamton, Hillegas graduated early with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Le Moyne in December 2016. She went on to pursue her Master’s Degree in Dual Childhood Education, completing her degree in December 2018.

Hillegas lives in Camillus with her fiancée Connor, pup Kya and two cats, Chester and CC.
