MEN'S BASKETBALL: YOUNG AND GONZALEZ SCORE 20 POINTS EACH AS SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE ROLLS PAST LE MOYNE 85-59

MANCHESTER, N.H. – P.J. Young and Miguel Gonzalez scored 20 points each to lead Southern New Hampshire to an 85-59 Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball win over Le Moyne at SNHU Fieldhouse. The Penmen, 65-64 winners over Le Moyne in Syracuse earlier this month, improve to 13-6 overall and 9-5 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Le Moyne drops to 7-12 overall and 3-12 in league action.

Southern New Hampshire jumped out to a 25-7 lead in the first eight minutes and never looked back. The Penmen took a 46-28 lead into the intermission and pushed their lead as high as 28 points in the second half.

Sam Carey scored 12 points to join Young and Gonzalez in double figures for Southern New Hampshire. Senior Sid Pond's (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) nine points topped Le Moyne in the scoring column. The Dolphins made 20-of-45 (44.4%) shots from the field and 15-of-23 (65.2%) from the free throw line. Le Moyne turned the ball over 23 times.

Young grabbed 11 rebounds as the hosts outrebounded Le Moyne 34-27. Senior Corey Smith (Gouverneur, N.Y./Gouverneur) corralled six rebounds to lead Le Moyne.
 

Le Moyne takes a break from Northeast-10 Conference action with a home game on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Division II Nyack of the CACC.
