ATHENS, OHIO – Sophomores Robby Perez (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) and Stephen Crawford (Webster, N.Y./Finger Lakes CC) drove in three runs each and Bobby Blevins pitched seven strong innings as Le Moyne scored an 11-3 win at Ohio University. The Dolphins (4-5) have won three of their last four games, while Ohio dips to 3-5.
Perez, Crawford and senior shortstop Michael Affronti (Dix Hills, N.Y./Commack) had three hits each. Sophomores Jamie Rose (Hornell, N.Y./Hornell) and Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) contributed two apiece. Le Moyne outhit its hosts 15-8.
Junior righty Bobby Blevins (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff) allowed three runs on six hits and struck out a season-high eight in seven innings. Blevins allowed only three hits and no runs in the first six innings
Le Moyne scored twice in the second, twice in the fourth and broke the game open with a five-run fifth. Perez singled home one run and Crawford plated a pair with a two-run single. Perez capped his evening with a two-run home run in the ninth.
The two clubs are playing a four-game series in Athens, Ohio. Tomorrow's doubleheader will feature one seven-inning game and one nine-inning game. If the first game goes into extra innings, the second game will be the scheduled seven-inning game.
