CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sophomore Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) went 4-for-5 with three runs batted in to lead Le Moyne to a 7-4 win at UNC Charlotte. The Dolphins (5-5) meet the 49ers (14-6) tomorrow at noon.
Trailing 4-3 in the top of the sixth, Ben Gaal (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) blasted a two-run home run, his second of the season, to put the Dolphins in front for good.
Junior righty Bobby Blevins (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff) allowed three runs in 6 and 1/3 innings to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Dolphins touched up Charlotte starter Adam Mills (3-1) for seven runs on eight hits as he dropped his first decision of the season. Blevins and three relief pitchers combined to limit the hosts to less than seven runs in a game for just the third time in 20 games this season.
Parrino and sophomore Stephen Crawford (Webster, N.Y./Finger Lakes CC) scored two runs each. Crawford went 2-for-3 in the lineup's No. 8 slot, while Parrino drove in three runs out of the top spot in the lineup. Parrino raised his batting average to .418 with the four hits.
