KEEGAN SCORES FIVE GOALS, VECCHIO SETS UP FIVE AS WOMEN'S LACROSSE WINS SEVENTH STRAIGHT, 18-7 OVER ST. MARY'S

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Junior Amanda Keegan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored five goals and sophomore Whitney Vecchio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) assisted on five as Le Moyne extended its winning streak to a program-record seven straight with an 18-7 win over St. Mary's at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Dolphins (10-2) host St. Bonaventure (9-0) the only remaining unbeaten NCAA Division I team tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Le Moyne closed out the final six minutes and five seconds opening half with nine consecutive goals to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 10-3 halftime edge. After P.J. Hainley put the visiting Gaels (3-8) up 3-1 with 16:46 remaining, sophomore Meghan Burghoon (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) finished off a feed from sophomore Kylie Rosette (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) to ignite the nine-goal run.

Vecchio scored a free position goal with 5:10 remaining to tie the contest at three, then set up the next four goals and five of the next six. She fed freshman Michelle Lissner (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) for the go-ahead goal, McKenzie Gray (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville), Lisa McCarthy (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) and Keegan converted passes from Vecchio to deliver Le Moyne a 7-3 lead. Keegan closed out the half with three of the final four goals as Le Moyne took a seven-goal edge into the intermission.

Le Moyne extended its lead to as many as 12 goals in the second half. Sophomore goalkeeper Samantha Falcone (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) made a season-high 14 saves, including eight in the opening half for her 10th win of the season. Falcone, who entered the game sixth nationally in goals against average, lowered her GAA to 7.58.

The Dolphins have not lost since a 10-6 setback at Albany on March 22. Le Moyne will play for the fourth time in five days in Wednesday's showdown with the unbeaten Bonnies.
