ITHACA, N.Y. - Senior Brian Hansen (Endicott, N.Y./Chenango Valley) knocked in both runs in the opener and Keith Connors (Jamesport, N.Y./Commack) and Michael Affronti (Dix Hills, N.Y./Commack) scored four times in the second game as Le Moyne swept a baseball doubleheader at Cornell. The Dolphins (15-10) won the opener 2-0 and the nightcap 19-5.
Hansen singled home Ben Gaal (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) for both runs in the opening game. Gaal reached on an error and scored the game's first run in the top of the fourth. He singled and scored an insurance run on Hansen's sixth-inning single. Senior righty Ryan Toth (Massena, N.Y./Massena), who no-hit Cornell last season, pitched two scoreless innings for his second win of the season.
In the second game, Le Moyne pounded out19 runs on 16 hits. The Dolphins top four spots in the lineup combined to score 12 runs. Leadoff hitter Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) scored twice, Connors and Affronti scored four times each and Gaal scored two times as the cleanup hitter. Parrino went 2-for-5 with two runs batted in, Connors was 2-for-2 with three RBI and Gaal blasted a three-run home run. Stephen Crawford (Webster, N.Y./Finger Lakes CC) went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in and Hansen had two more hits and drove in two more runs.
Le Moyne travels to Troy, N.Y. for a MAAC game against Siena on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The single game will be played at Joe Bruno Stadium. Saturday's doubleheader will be played at Siena College.
