POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Junior Amanda Keegan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored four goals to lead Le Moyne to a 17-10 win over Marist in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's lacrosse game at Leonidoff Field. The Dolphins (7-2, 3-0 MAAC) have won seven of their last eight games overall, including all three league contests.
Ten different Dolphins scored and 11 of Le Moyne's 17 goals were assisted on. Lauren Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) scored three goals, Liz Hewitt (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and Whitney Vecchio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) contributed two each. Keegan and Hewitt lead Le Moyne with 18 goals and 28 points for the season. Six players have scored 10 or more goals for the balanced Dolphins offense.
Keegan scored three goals to help stake the Dolphins to a 10-4 lead in the opening half. Le Moyne outshot its hosts 50-21. Sophomore goalkeeper Samantha Falcone (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) made five saves for Le Moyne, while Liz Burkhard turned aside 22 shots for Marist.
The Dolphins return home for a six-game homestand, starting on Saturday (April 8) against Manhattan. Le Moyne will host Iona (April 9), St. Mary's (April 11), St. Bonaventure (April 12), Long Island (April 15) and Canisius (April 21).
