LE MOYNE BASEBALL RUNS WINNING STREAK TO NINE STRAIGHT WITH 8-4 WIN OVER CANISIUS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Aaron DiFruscio (Nepean, Ontario/Merivale) singled home Brian Hansen (Endicott, N.Y./Chenango Valley) with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh to help Le Moyne to an 8-4 MAAC baseball win over Canisius at Dick Rockwell Field. The Dolphins (26-11, 12-5 MAAC) have won nine straight games, while Canisius (14-30, 5-13 MAAC) suffers a three-game sweep.

With the score tied at four, DiFruscio lined a two-out single over the outstretched glove of Canisius shortstop Alec Cabello to plate Hansen who had doubled with one out. The Dolphins tacked on three insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth on Ben Gaal's (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) three-run home run.

Gabe Baida and Branson Joseph had two hits each for Canisius. Baida ripped a solo home run in the third inning that staked the Golden Griffins to a 4-0 lead.

Senior first baseman Keith Connors (Jamesport, N.Y./Commack) cut Le Moyne's deficit in half with an opposite field two-run home run  in the bottom of the third. Le Moyne scored in the fifth on Andy Parrino's (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) solo home run and Connors knocked in the tying run in the sixth.

After starter Michael Falasca (Sicklerville, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) allowed four runs over the first three innings, freshman reliever Eric Beaulac (Troy, N.Y./Troy) pitched three and 2/3 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief. Senior southpaw A.J. Lindsey (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) got the final out of the seventh inning and one in the eighth for his third win of the season. Senior righty Ryan Woods (Jacksonville, Fla./Englewood) allowed one hit and no runs over the final one and 2/3 innings of his 20th appearance for his fourth save.

Le Moyne hosts Buffalo in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
