Syracuse, N.Y. - Sophomore Emily Donnells (Penn Yan N.Y./Penn Yan) and freshman Michelle Lissner (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) scored four goals each to lead Le Moyne to a 22-3 win over Iona in a MAAC women's lacrosse game at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. Le Moyne (9-2, 5-0 MAAC) has won six straight and nine of their last 10 games.
Donnells and Lissner led a balanced Le Moyne offense as eight other Dolphins scored 14 of the 22 unanswered goals. Kylie Rosette (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) and Amanda Keegan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) netted three goals, Beth Sierotnik (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) and Meghan Burgoon (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) added two, while Whitney Vecchio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown), Lisa McCarthy (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee), Lauren Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden), and Karla Hardy (Tully, N.Y./Tully) had one each.
Iona's Jaclyn O'Leary opened the game with back to back goals in the first four minutes of the contest. Le Moyne then tied the contest at two with goals from Donnells and Lissner. Eight additional Dolphins then scored to put Le Moyne up 22-2 before Iona's O'Leary netted her third goal of the game to close out the contest at 22-3.
Sophomore Samantha Falcone (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) made six saves for her ninth win of the season. Iona's Colleen Magri and Roxanne Monte combined for 12 stops.
Le Moyne hosts St. Mary's (California) for a non-conference match up Tuesday April 11 at 4 p.m.
