MEN'S BASKETBALL: SAINT ROSE TURNS BACK LE MOYNE 69-57
ALBANY, N.Y. - Steve Dagostino scored 16 points to lead four in
double figures as Saint Rose turned back Le Moyne 69-57 in a
Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball game at Daniel P. Nolan
Gymnasium. The Golden Knights (15-5, 11-4 Northeast-10) complete a
home-and-home season sweep of the Dolphins (8-11, 5-9
Northeast-10). Matt Cooper (Fulton, N.Y./Fulton) led Le Moyne with
a game-high 18 points.
Jonathan Joshua (Inglewood, Calif./Inglewood) drilled five
3-pointers for 15 points and Laurence Ekperigin (Courtlandt Manor,
N.Y./Walter Panas) scored 10 points to join Cooper in double
figures for Le Moyne. Le Moyne shot 40.4% to Saint Rose's 47.1% and
was outrebounded 33-31. Cooper and Ekperigin led the Dolphins with
eight rebounds each.
Will Monica scored 11 points, Clayton Longmire and Mike DePaoli
added 10 each to join Dagostino in double figures for the Golden
Knights. Saint Rose took a 31-30 lead into the intermission and led
for the entire second half. Le Moyne closed to within four points
at 43-39 on a pair of Dan Cromwell (Victor, N.Y./Victor) free
throws with 11:37 remaining, but Saint Rose scored the next five
and embarked on an 18-5 run to take a commanding 61-44 lead with
3:58 remaining.
Le Moyne hosts Merrimack on Saturday at 3 p.m.
