DOLPHINS WRAP UP NE-10 CHAMPIONSHIPS; WOMEN FINISH 2ND & MEN PLACE 3RD

The Le Moyne College swimming & diving teams wrapped up the 2007 NE-10 Championships on Sunday. The women placed in second, just 19.5 points behind Southern Connecticut. The men finished in third place behind Bentley and champion Southern Connecticut.

Winning events on the men's side was the 200 & 400 Medley Relay team of Ricky Chidsey, Jerry Dumary, Ryan Lowrie and Hofsord  with a time of 1:36.02 & 3:30.99 respectively. Chidsey led the meet with five with a total first place finishes as he claimed first in the 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Freshman Jerry Dumary placed first in the 200 and 100 Breaststorke.

Southern Connecticut claimed the team title with 900.5 points, followed by Bentley (698), Le Moyne (581.5), Bryant (552), St. Rose (541), St. Michael's (208) and Pace (16).  Southern Connecticut's Dan Vitagliano earned the Championship Most Valuable Swimmer while Brandon Birchak of St. Rose earn the Most Valuable Diver honors.

Senior Allison Lesher led the Dolphins by claiming victories in the 400 IM, 200 Butterfly, and the 1650 Freestyle and contributed with Sarah Casey, Nicole Murphy and Kayla Ehle to win the 400 Medly Relay.  Murphy would claim two victories as she finished first in the100 and 200 Breastroke.

The Dolphins finished in second place, 19.5 points behind the Southern Connecticut Owls. Bently placed third with 608 points, followed by Bryant (448.5), St. Rose (372), St. Michael's (223) and Pace (191).  Southern Connecticut's Kristen Frost and Ali Bronson earned Most Valuable Swimmer and Most Valuable Diver honors.

Le Moyne returns to the pool on Saturday, December 8th as they take on St. Rose.
