LE MOYNE SHOOTS PAST FRANKLIN PIERCE, 19-1.
RINDGE, N.H. - #1 Le Moyne
bounced back from their first regular season loss in five seasons
with a decisive 19-1 victory over Franklin Pierce. The Dolphins
capitalized on the play of Brian Griffin (Camillus, N.Y./
West Genesee) who won all of his 18 face-offs. The Le
Moyne offense set the tone by scoring the first 19 goals of the
afternoon. Defensively, the Dolphins yielded only 10 shots on goal
with eight of them coming in the fourth quarter.
Le Moyne (4-1, 1-1) had a balanced offensive attack with 11
different players scoring at least one goal. The Dolphins were led
by junior midfielders Brad Wolken (Baldwinsville, N.Y.
/Baldswinville) and Alex Bily (Syracuse, N.Y.
(West Genesee) who scored three goals each. Matt
Emerson (Watertown, N.Y. /Watertown), Nick Gatto (Syracuse, N.Y.
/Henninger), Tom Donahue (Syracuse, N.Y. /West Genesee),
and Ed Street (Manlius, N.Y. /Christian
Brothers Academy) also tallied two goals apiece. Jason
Flanigan scored the lone goal for Franklin Pierce (1-2, 0-1).
Le Moyne will next travel to Merrimack on Saturday, March 31st
at 11:00 pm.
