BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Kylie Rosette (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) and Meghan Burgoon (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) scored two goals each to lead Le Moyne to a 9-8 win over Long Island University in a non-conference women's lacrosse game. The Dolphins (3-1) won for the third straight game, while LIU drops to 0-2.
Le Moyne opened up a 9-5 lead on Burgoon's second goal of the game with 10:25 remaining. The Blackbirds netted the final three goals of the game - all in the final four minutes - to close the final deficit to three goals. Â
Amanda Keegan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus), Lisa McCarthy (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee), Molly Yaman (Homer, N.Y./Homer), Leah Mazella (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) and Beth Sierotnik (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) scored one goal each to join Rosette and Burgoon in the scoring column. Rosette, the MAAC Player of the Week, leads Le Moyne with nine goals and 17 total points this season. Â
Junior Samantha Falcone (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) made three saves for Le Moyne. The Dolphins return to action on Sunday at Monmouth.
