SYRACUSE, NY. - Amanda Keegan (Marcellus, NY / Marcellus) scored six goals to lead Le Moyne over Vermont 19-8 on Saturday afternoon at Solvay High School. The 19 goals scored by the Dolphins marks the highest offensive output of the season. Le Moyne moves to 9-4, 3-0 on the season, while Vermont falls to 3-9, 0-2.
Whitney Vecchio (Watertown, N.Y. /General Brown) continued her excellent play by pouring in the first goal of the game for the Dolphins; she would score three goals and assist on another.
Le Moyne jumped out to a 4-0 lead on Emily Donnells' (Penn Yan, N.Y. /Penn Yan) goal at the 14:54 mark of the first half. The Catamonts would rally and pull within one at 5-4 on a free position goal by Kristen Millar. The Dolphins would finish the first half on a flurry by scoring seven goals over the final 8:54.
Keegan would tally the first goal of the second half for the Dolphins as Le Moyne put up three quick goals to pull ahead 15-6 on Vermont. The Dolphin defense yielded only two second half goals as Samantha Falcone (Syracuse, N.Y. /West Genesee) picked up her ninth win of the season.
Lauren Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y. /Bishop Luden) and Kylie Rosette (Watertown, N.Y. /General Brown) helped pace the Dolphin offense by scoring three goals each. Emily Donnells notched two goals and Meghan Burgoon (Syracuse, N.Y. /West Genesee) and Lisa McCarthy (Syracuse, N.Y. /West Genesee) scored one goal each to wrap up the scoring
Le Moyne will return to action on Friday, April 13th as the Dolphins travel to Iona for a 3:00 pm start.
