Syracuse N.Y.-Le Moyne defeated the Assumption Greyhounds as they advance their record to 26-8 overall, 13-1 NE-10. A powerful start in the first inning gave the Dolphins what they needed to take the first game 5-3. In game two Jenna Vanacore's pitching and the Dolphins defense held Assumption to only one run giving the Dolphins the win 4-1.
In game one the Dolphins took an early lead scoring four runs in the first. Emma Murphy got the Dolphins going with her single to left field, bringing in two runs for Le Moyne. The Dolphins would then score two unearned runs to give them a 4-0 lead. In the bottom of the second Sarah Reeds triple to right center extended the Dolphins lead to 5-0. Assumption tried to rally back in the third by scoring two runs . The Greyhounds would manage to score once more in the fourth. This wouldn't be enough as the Dolphins took the win by a score of 5-3.
Caylinn Christophersen received the win improving her record to 6-3. Murphy lead the Dolphins with two RBI's followed by Reed with one.
In game two the Vanacore's pitching would hold the Greyhounds to one as the Dolphins took the win 4-1. Danielle VanGorders two run homer put the Dolphins ahead in the bottom to the third inning. The Dolphins would then score again in the fourth from Kim Bakers home run and an unearned run as they captured the sweep.
Vanacore improved her record to 6-0 as she struck out nine batters and only allowed eight hits. VanGorder lead the Dolphins as she went two for two with two RBI's. Baker made her contribution to the Dolphins win with her first home run of the season.
