Syracuse N. Y.- Le Moyne advance their record to 28-8 overall, 15-1 in the NE-10 as they defeated the Stonehill Skyhawks, today at home. Emma Murphy's home run brought the Dolphins back in game one as they took the 7-6 victory. In the second game of the day Le Moyne managed to squeeze out a 1-0 win over the Skyhawks.
In the first game of the day the Dolphins battled neck and neck with the Stonehill as they pulled out the win 7-6. Going in to the fifth the Dolphins trailed 6-3. Caitlin O'Neill's double down the leftfield line got the Dolphins going bringing in a run putting the Dolphins with in two. Murphy then followed as she tied the game 6-6 with her two run homer giving the Dolphins their chance to take the lead. Le Moyne scored the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh as O'Neill single to center field to plate Bailey Phillips and give the Dolphins the walk-off victory 7-6.
Jenna Vanacore picked up the win in relief as she improves her record to 7-0. Sarah Reed led the Dolphins as she went 3-for-4 with two doubles. In the Circle Reed struck out five batters in 5 innings.
Game two was highlighted by Jenna Vanacore strong pitching. Earning the win in the second game Vanacore struck out ten batters and only scattered six hits. This brings Vanacore to 8-0 for the season with a team best 1.49 ERA. Le Moynes only run came in the third inning as Reed scored from O'Neill's infield single.
Join the Dolphins tomorrow as they host their final regular season double header against the Bryant Bulldogs at noon. As of Friday, the Bryant Bulldogs led the NE-10 conference with a 16-0 conference record.
