Syracuse N.Y- Le Moyne College swept Bryant in a double header Sunday to move in to first place of the Northeast-10 conference with a 17-1 lead mark. In game one Le Moyne took an early lead in the first with a two run homer by Emma Murphy. In Game two the Dolphins bats gave the dolphins the victory as the defeated Bryant 9-2. With today's victories Le Moyne improves to 30-8, 17-1 while Bryant falls to 20-10, 17-3.
In the First game of the day the Dolphins opened up by scoring three runs in the first, two from Emma Murphy's homerun. The Bulldogs battled back in the second scoring two runs to bring the game to 3-2. Not backing down Le Moynes Sarah Reed would come out to put another run on the board with her fifth homerun of the season. The Dolphins finished up the inning with Jennifer's Farrellys single to center field to secure the 5-2 victory.
Earning the win for the Dolphins was Caylinn Christophersen as she improves her record to 7-3. Jennifer Farrelly earned her second save of the season in her three innings of relief in the circle. Murphy made her contribution to the Dolphins with her fourth homerun of the season as she went 2-for-3 with to RBI's. Sarah Reed and Caitlin O'Neill also contributed as they went 2-for-3 with one RBI's each.
In game two the Dolphins bats showed their strength as the powered past the Bulldogs earning a 9-2 victory. The Dolphins offense got in gear in the bottom of the third plating four runs to put the dolphins ahead 4-1. The offensive attack was lead by Sarah Reed as she was a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Caitlin O'Neill, Kelly Schweikert, and Kortney Meadows each collected two hits to pace the 15-hit attack.
Jenna Vanacore improved her record to 9-0 as she pitched a complete game allowing five hits and striking out eight.
The Dolphins return to action traveling to face St. Michael's Thursday, April 24 at 3:30 pm.
